Latinos came from South American countries and other North American countries colonized by Europe. They are called Latinos because the languages they speak like Spanish,Portugese etc. are developed from Latin.

From or of Latin American descent. Latino is masculine. Latina is feminine. Basically anywhere in Latin America where Portuguese or Spanish is spoken (although there is some English and French influence in Central America as well).

Latino means: 1. Of LATIN origin 2. Of or relating to the languages that developed from Latin, or to the peoples that speak them. 3.In the United States, the term "Latino" refers loosely to any person having Latin American background and living in the U.S, and is a synonym with "Hispanic". It is typically contrasted with Anglo-American and (English-speaking) African-American. The term "Latino" may have racial connotations which are absent in Latin America.
I hope this answers your question :)

"latinos" are all people from south or central america that have spanish or portughese as their first language. those 2 languages are of latin origin, so that's were the name "latino comes from". note that there are a lot of people with european roots that speak one of the latin-based languages (italian, french, spanish, portughese, romanian), still they are not called "latinos" beacuse they are not of south-central-american descent.

They come from Latin american countries where some connection by colonisation happened involving the europeans. Europeans screwed their native women and a mixed race was born. They are latinos
