I have a question about the way Hindi/Urdu is spelled when using romanized letters. Obviously when you take it away from the Devanagari there is going to be some slipups-
but does Hindi have a true "th" sound, as in "thank you", for English? I don't think it does.
because certain words are spelled...like paratha...and you don't pronounce the "h". why is this? Also when in the song Silsila Yeh Chaahat Ka, the singer says "faasala thaa durii thii" and I didn't hear a single "th", only straight T's!!
can someone explain, again..
if the "th" sound is absent from Hindi
and WHY the "th" sound is absent

i have a friend who meat a guy from africa . for two years they are friends and yet he calls him african instead of his nationality or country. i ask him what country is he really from but he had no idea but say he is an african. i ask him that africa is not a state and there are many countries in africa. is like calling someone fro mexico an american when there are many countries in america

To me it seems difficult to do. It's like saying I believe in King Richard the Lion Hearted but not in medieval history...

Or, I believe in the universe being infinite, but not the science that tells us why...

maybe those are bad comparisons, but either way I have a hard time seperating the two.

I have a friend who is quite pretty and pretty flirtacious. Not that I'm not good looking too, she is just more flirty than me. Guys are always taking her actions wrong and thinking she is into them and she is SO not - but that's beside the point. Guys inevitably turn to me afterwards and ask if she has a BF or if they can have her number. WTF is that? I remember being in grade school and getting your friend to do the "hook up" - but...didn't we outgrow that yet??

If you are that intimidated to ask yourself, then do you think any girl will want to go out with you?

How rude are you being to the girl you are talking to? Um, I see you are female and not intimidating, but I'm right into your friend. Can you help me out?

Do guys do this for each other?

Do guys not realize that there is a safety issue with girls just opening hand out a friends phone number to someone they don't know?

i try not to insult anyone not even christians but its bound to happen since most of the time i feel like i am being insulted by the fanatic christians in here. as a spiritualist i feel insulted when people say christianity is spiritual and i know its not a spiritual belief system to begin with and i also feel insulted when christians tell me i am going to hell but i dont let it get to me since i follow the idea of "pity the souls for they are not worthy of getting mad at" i dont hate christians as people i just hate the religion that they follow for it has created some nasty people of the centuries and all that. christians you all deserve the insults that are thrown at you by atheist and non christians since you brought it on your selves all these years

It just seems like we are always hit with things right about this time of year. 9/11, Hurricane Katrina were major events but then there was the death of Princess Diana (8/31/97) and now Steve Irwin, the nice jolly guy from TV. Doesn't this just seem odd? What is it about this time of year? I am beginning to dread it and think what will this year bring?

I had a dream the other night that had to do with my great grandma who is not alive anymore. My dream was in black and white. Does anyone know what this means?

Okay, so I am african american and I want to know why so many of us are out there practicing christianity as though it wasn't a forced religion back during times of slavery. I dunno, maybe I have the facts wrong, so hopefully someone can enlighten me. I'm not a Christian- but the reason that I'm not is for the simple fact that evolution makes too much sense to me- however, what I want to know is why so many african americans continue to practice Christianity, while all the other have been abolished (or at least are seeming to be) in this century.

from a guy or anyone, many people refuse and would rather suffer and go without in the name of being independent. What is so great about going without since no one is standing around getting impressed by your decision anyway. I have been told many times that you don't take help from a man because he will expect something, well I have found that the guys that will do nothing for you seem to explect stuff too. If I had someone offer to help me in my situation, I would take them up on it. Sometimes working just doesn't pay all the bills.

I believe in God. I have since I saw my father live through aterrible illness that he should have died from and I witnessed that miracle. I want to bring God into my childrens' lives in a more full and complete way than my family did. We were not church going people, as my father was raised traditional Quaker and my mother was raised Presbyterian. My father struggled for years with church and God and how to believe. I don't necessaraly believe I have to go to church to worship Him, but would like for my children to feel Him in their life. What is a good church for me and my family and what is the best way to start going? Do you just show up? How do I know that the sunday school is good? How do I know my children will be comfortable in there while I'm listerning to the sermon? Do they have to sit with me during the sermon?How does this all work?

In all western countries including the US, Canada and all of europe it is impossible to get a lisence to hold money in big amounts. In the US Wal-Mart have been trying for five years. Often times the topic of Evolution vs Creationism is brought up in the Religion section. Sometimes people ask the question if man evolved from apes why are there still apes?

My question here in this question is, do Creationists know the answer that Evolutionists and proponents of Natural Selection have put forward? Is there a scientific objection you have, or is it just a slogan you learned in church - why are there still apes/monkeys.

The idea behind why there are still apes has to do with geographic isolation of species. This is something someone named "Charles Darwin" wrote about in the 1800s. Don't think of Charles Darwin as an evil man he was in fact, a Christian.

The idea is that there were some apes or monkeys who were in one part of the world who evolved into human beings, while there were other monkeys and apes who did not evolve. So it had to do with geography and not every ape evolved.

So, is it fair to say we won't see why are there still apes?

Given my history people have been telling her that I am hornball and that all I care about is sex. Basically everyone seems to think that I can't commit. The other day she and I were talking and she suddenly said that she was ready for sex and not even a week before that we had decided on waiting or what not.
