I guess people just choose the popular mythology of the day. Like what young person will dance the frug or the Boogaloo? they probably never even heard of them. In the early sixties all the young people danced these dances, they even did the Monkey and the Jerk. Really!

Hera didn't do such a great job in keeping her husband faithful, now did she? Every God fearing pagan knows that Zeus/Jupiter was the biggest philanderer ever known! He'd even change himself into fog just to get in some nymph's clothes! Why would anyone consider Hera's assistance in keeping their spouse faithful? Maybe is Hera would've been successful in keeping her hubby faithful, she'd have more credibility.
And why do you believe that the Christians' God eschewed marriage? Because Jesus didn't marry? There's debate on that subject. But I'd have to disagree with you that God eschewed marriage. He didn't go around telling his followers to get a divorce and just shack up with people. It doesn't say in the Ten Commandments, Thou Shalt Not Marry.

I don't understand why you would say that God "eschewed marriage." Marriage is something that God wants for us. He made Eve so Adam would not be lonely. I couldn't find the verse I was looking for, but in my marriage counseling that my preacher gives to all engaged couples, he read a verse that said something about a man should leave his parents and cleave to his wife. When I was looking for that specific verse, in 1Corinthians I found a verse that says "each man should have his own wife". What about that would make you think God doesn't want people to be married? To answer the question, I ignore any god that isn't the Almighty because what facts do you have to support their existence?

Christians, like people of other religions, are essentially mental slaves to the religion that the dominant society, their parents, or they themselves have foisted upon them. Since Christianity is at its core both male-dominant and monotheistic, rejecting Hera appears to be consistent with these traits of the cult.

The bible states " Husbands love your wives as Christ loves the church. Where are you getting this information?. Marriage will always be a holy estate instituted by God.

Jesus and St. Paul were right...avoiding marriage and committing life to God is better for those who can do it. Just that not everyone can do it, due to our nature.

Ask many a formerly married person, most will tell you...

God instituted marriage. He made Adam and Eve, put them together as man and wife. How did you get to be so ignorant?
