Regarding this question about Adam and Eve, do you feel the answers suggest the greatest division of the last 100 years of Americans, the fundamentalist Christians and the liberal Christians and people of all other faiths.

http://answers.yahoo.com/question/?qid=20060822170620AAGBF59&pa=FYd1D2bwHTHwIbxkHes.Sex80hscwAIyZIty9crjS0DDUg--&msgr_status=

The question asked if it was acceptable for Adam and Eve to sin. To break God's law. Most of the answers said that yes, that led to a real authentic life. It was both good and bad, and that the metaphor applies to them and me and you, about when we lost our innocence. Would Adam and Eve remain children forever, or indeed, grow up and get dressed and get a job. Most of us relate to Adam and Eve after.

The other group said this was awful that they were seperated from God. How foolish. God forgave. Genesis 3:21. This was the day they grew up, made a mistake, but were forgiven.
This should be everones greatest day. How do you feel

The saying goes that we don't learn from other people's mistakes, only our own - (well at least hopefully we do learn from our own mistakes)! Maybe you will share your story of how you have learned from someone else's mistake.

I've just been asked to be the president of my school’s Book & Spanish Club. The teacher has never started a club before, so she left everything up to me. I have a lot of experience with a leadership role, the clubs’ subjects are where I need the help. I’ve been the president of Book club before, but I can’t remember the whole routine. How do I set everything up, what are some things we are suppose to do? Anything I need to know or that could be helpful? With the Spanish club I have no clue. What do you do in a Spanish club? I need educational things along with fun. Also both clubs require a certain amount of community service to be done, & what could be some fund risers? I have a matter of hours before I need to hand in all the information, & the two constitutions. (Constitution = purpose, goals, membership requirements, meetings, officers, and activities) Club day is soon & we have to have the clubs approved long before then! Good feedback before I have a stroke, please! Thanks…

i was just curious, being Christian myself.
If there are those who aren't Jesus who say they are,
then how would we know?

How would he be known around the world?
By the media?
If he was to be publicized,
how many people would actually believe it?
I'm so confused!

I'm one that is easily influenced by what the media says,
propaganda, media lies, i always fall for them.
But if this were to happen,
i don't know if i could believe it.

So what I'm asking is how would he become known and why would people believe him? Would people think that he's lying even if they are in a Christian branch of religion?

Thanks, i just wanted to know your opinion and perhaps be less confused.

:)

I have noticed how often Christians disagree with one another about the true path to heaven. Some insist the whole Bible is literally true, while others insist it must be interpreted. Some insist we should study the Bible alone, without guidance, while others insist on the need for guidance from church elders.

Is there some kind of conspiracy to drive non-christians mad? To insist on a narrow road to heaven on the one hand, while presenting the appearance that Christianity is all things to all people on the other?

Bottom Line: why do moderates ignore the existence of fundamentalists, while fundies ignore the existence of moderates? Those of us who are not Christians see both, and can only scratch our heads (or slam them on the desk) when we examples of such denial.

Why am I a level 2? I just wanna be me..appreciated for who I am, where I'm from, and my whole perspective on life. Why must I be slotted into a level? I'M MORE THAN THAT!!!!!!! Thats why, when I get to level 3, I am going to write Yahoo, and tell them that I don't want to be level 3! They can keep their level 3! Level 3 is just like level 2 to me because I'm still just me. I like to randomly offer to babysit a couple's kids so they can go out to dinner together (usually for the first time in months). Or I find out what their favorite food is and bring it to them when they least expect it.
What can you think of?

I think Christians are ok, and have many christian friends. I am cool with ya being christian, and I am for freedom. That is also why I have a problem with you guys. I am fine with Christians till they try to get their beliefs turned to law. I am fine till beliefs are imposed on me. When religion effects law, and is thrown at me, I fight back. This is the problem some atheists have, but not all. I can only speak on my behalf. I like you guys, just respect, or tolerate me.

I’ve heard so many White Americans ask this question. As an African American, honestly, it doesn’t bother me at all. I just see it as another word. But, please allow me to give you some insight on why it bothers other people. First, I must say I believe that most White Americans who ask this question are more so the ones who tend to be in denial about the racial history of America. You must keep in mind how the word is associated with White Americans – and I say White Americans because I’ve traveled and noticed that Europeans are not half as racial as Americans, Black or White. Their history is different. Racism was just a small part of Europe’s history, where as America was founded on racism. Racism was woven into the very foundation of America, that’s why it’s such a big issue in America where as it’s not such a big issue in many other countries. They do have it, but not to the extent of America. Many other countries learn their racism from American Media. Ask the average foreigner, they’ll tell you. So, why can’t we use the N-Word? - Because it’s your initial association with the word and the constant racism that still goes on in America keeps that negative association of the word fresh. Young African American Men have created a different meaning for the word amongst themselves and when used could simply mean: my homey; my buddy; a guy; a man; etc, etc, etc. For example, the Rapper Eminim, although he is White, he’s associated as a Rapper, and his use of the N – Word is associated with the Hip Hop community, but not as a White American. Please share your thoughts and ideas.

My butthead neighbor was telling me that men were superior and his argument was that HE WAS MAN.... WOMEN WERE MADE FROM HIM... ADAM's RIB...

I looked at him and said, "So what... maybe God wanted to perfect his craft. It's like taking a manifold off a Ford Pinto and making a Cadillac."

What do you think?

I am agnostic and bash fundie-christians occasionally as many of you have seen, but I focus on Islamists cause they are the immenient threat and Christianty has evolved to a place of co-existance like all other religions except Islam.

Whats funny to me though is that most of the Christian-hate doesnt come from people like me or atheists, its comes from Leftists Christians and Islamists. Now, Islam directly tells Muslims to hate Christians and Jews, but leftists...whats the self-loathing about?

Leftists, all this hate comes partly from a underlying disbelief, you just havent the courage to admitt it. Why not grow-up and leave the religion?

Honestly leftists, if you have contempt for almost all Christian doctrines except a couple, your no different than a Muslim, I mean, whats left to your pathetic ad hoc christianty? In fact, I respect most Christian doctrines and am instead agnostic.

Its funny how you love Islam...considering it is the farthest extreme of the right.
