In My Opinion Yes It IS.
You give me good reasons why you would (a) Rip a baby out of your womb tearing it apart limb by limb , or (b) poison it's bloodstream with saline till it's whole body turns black and dies ....hmmm !!! and we are supposed to be a civilized society., yet we kill our children in droves. just because it is legal it dosent make it right.
Only in rare cicumstances ...ie for MEDICAL reasons if the mom will die ..or in the case of rape where the emotional impact would be too great on the individual. (even then alot of babies could be saved and the life of the mom kept intact)
There needs to be more restrictions placed politically on abortions , as it stands today, abortions can be performed up to 28 weeks in England ..I dont know what the case is in the states but I would imagine it is similar...thats up to 6 months almost ...isnt that disgusting? The child is fully developed and you can STILL abort it.
Whats more disgusting is if that was a premature child birth the doctors would fight to save the childs life , but if it is considered an "Aborted Child" even on the table if it breathes it is left to die because it is considered "An Abortion" ..how could we as a society get to this stage where another human life is regarded as worthless.?
9 months is all the child needs just 9 months for your night of fun..just some growing time , and then you could put the baby up for adoption.
Abortion needs to be made harder to get and the time reduced to when you can have an abortion, I would say up to 8 weeks not 20 something weeks that is totally unacceptable.
If this offends people then I'm sorry , but the baby dosent deserve to pay for your night of fun with it's life. It's not the babies fault., That was your responsibility the night you decided to have unprotected sex ...and even if you did have protected sex ..is that really a valid reason for murdering an innocent baby???
Are you going to die if you give birth or just be slightly inconvenienced for 9 months???
Do you hate the life growing inside you so much that you are willing to murder it? Are you truly THAT selfish?
The law should be changed . and we should protest that our tax dollars are being used for this sort of thing.
If you want an abortion , then you pay for it, because I dont want my tax dollars going on this thing ,I'd rather it go to education, fixing the roads , given to the disabled , or creating jobs , rather than using it for murder.
Is it Murder ??
A life was there before the abortion .....You do the math.
The only reason people do it is because the baby is unseen unheard and can't defend itself.~ it is the worst form of bullying I can think of ......what makes the difference between Abortion and Murder ? 9 months .

This depends on when you believe life begins...from conception, at birth or in between. It also depends on your religious and spiritual beliefs. Some people believe we only have one shot at life other people believe we will be reincarnated...Anyone contemplating abortion is doing so because there is some factors impacting on her belief in her ability that she will be able to give birth to and raise the child. The only way to make such a decision is to access all support networks you can and the relevant information so that you can make an informed decision. Some people will call a woman who aborts her child a murderer, others won't. Passion reigns on both sides of the debate. Although most of us will hopefully think that the woman was in an unenviable position which none of us really ever want to be placed in.

aborting a child means you have to kill the child in order to abort the pregnancy
so regardless of whether it's right or wrong to some people, legal or illegal, it is still murder.
there is no way to abort a pregnancy without harming the baby,
it cannot live once it's been aborted.
everyone involved in the procedure has also helped to commit murder, and it does not matter how old the egg/fetus/baby was when it happened.

Get ready for some high flying answers. I so disagree with abortion. By the time a woman even realizes she's pregnant, her little baby's heart is beating. It's NOT just a clot, or blob. I think people want to believe that to make abortion easier for them. I think it's wrong, I think women should be smarter then to get pregnant when she doesn't want to be. I'm a nurse, and midwife. I've talked to women that have had 4-5 abortions. It's sickening to me. As far as murder, to me they're living, but to enforce a murder conviction, it's impossible, as abortion is legal. In some states, it's legal right up until a woman delivers. They end up sometimes smothering the baby. I've seen, and heard it all when it comes to abortions. I loathe them. ~

The technical answer is that it depends on what the law says in the relevant part of the world. As for the moral issue, here are my thoughts on the matter:
Procreation is an ongoing process which can be interrupted at any point, right from not having sex in the first place, through contraception, and drugs which prevent implantation, to abortion anywhere up to the moment of birth.
Somewhere along that process, most people would have a point where they consider it's OK to interfere to prevent the birth of a baby up to that point, but not afterwards - e.g. abstinence is OK, but contraception isn't.... or contraception is OK, but abortion isn't... or abortion is OK but only up to week 20... or whatever. It's simply a matter of conscience where you personally decide to draw the line, and on what basis.
For myself, I cannot accept that an undifferentiated bunch of cells has more rights than the fully grown adults who are responsible for its existence. I also cannot accept that it's right to kill a foetus when it's fully developed and due to be born. Logically then, there has to be a point somewhere in between that I decide, on the basis of conscience, is the point at which abortion becomes unacceptable. I don't know enough about it to have a definite view where that point lies, but it must lie somewhere in the 9 months of pregnancy. It's in the nature of life that there are no easy answers to this kind of question, as it's a matter of subjective opinion rather than objective fact - and my opinion is that abortion cannot be wrong, per se.

If you were to actually see the film that depicts an actual abortion of a woman who is 16 weeks pregnant and you see them actually rip the baby apart with forceps ( with a mini camera attached) inside the uterus, then bringing out an arm, a hand, a leg etc...you might be able to answer your own question. It was a very, very difficult film to observe without getting choked up. And if anyone were to see this film first hand before answering, they "might" be a little more empathetic to the unborn that it is happening to.

No... it is not a child until it is born.
Also, if you base your idea that it is murder on Christianity I suggest you read the Old Testament. There's a whole section about if a man thinks his wife is unfaithful to him, he will make a priest give her a drink that will cause her to miscarry. Also, in the Lex Talonis section, right before "a life for a life" the text states that if someone causes a woman to lose her baby all he has to do is pay her husband a fee. If abortion was considered murder, the text would have instructed the person at fault be put to death.

I really don't think she would be considered a murderer, she simply makes a choice to end a life, and it may vary well be to save her own, I don't believe religion should have a right to interfere with her choice, what ever her reason is hers and hers alone, I personally do not believe in abortion but I do believe in choice,

in my opinion yes. many people think that just because a baby is still in the womb it is not a person not true . i loved my niece as an embryo . she has a heartbeat now as she did then kill anything with a heartbeat especially a person it's murder i am only for it in fatal medical conditions after that there should be absolutely no reason.
