Sunni and Shiite muslims have been fighting for hundreds of years. It appears that Sunni muslims are most often the aggressors....why ?.You get the impression that the Sunni majority is waiting for the US to leave so they can rid themselves of the minority Shiites. It also seems that this view is supported by other muslim countries.

I am a good christian liberal so I often invite people who are down on their luck to stay with me until they get back on their feet. I currently have several homeless men with drug addictions staying in my basement. I suspect one of them is having an affair with my wife because I always catch them holding each other. They say that they are wrestling or practicing CPR but I don't believe it anymore. My wife also gives this man a lot more money then we usually give to the homeless, much more then I can afford. What should I do, I am so confused!

when i ask christian their take on constantine, they dont know who he is or was,not all,but alot,i think if it was not for consatine the christian religion might not still be a big religion in the world and would most likley fall like the gnostics, and peagen religions, and one more question,if constantine did not call all the bishops in the land to discuss who jesus was(flesh or spirit)would we still be debating this today.

I was told by a highly educated person that the surname Washington is, as you know, never or is rarely attached to a member of the white race, but common among American blacks. His explanation: because George Washington fathered so many childred with black women that most of the people named Washington changed their names to Washburn.

If God knows the beginning and the end of everything as christians claim he does. Then God must know that the majority of people he created will end up in hell. If God knows this then why does he make those people who are doomed to go to hell in the first place? Isn't this evil? If God is evil, why do people call him God?

The problem, you see, is that after establishing that we get to heaven by grace alone, not good works, we're left with no incentive to do good works. Why bother when a sincere death-bed prayer (Dear God, I am sorry I've sinned. I am a poor sinner. Please, in the name of your son Jesus Christ, cleanse me of my sins. Amen) gets us into heaven.

After all, we're all supposed to recognize that we're sinners all the time, forgiven only when we ask for it. Good christian work doesn't gain entry into heaven, only repentance for being a sinner. So why worry about what we do when the only thing that counts for our eternal salvation is sincere repentance for being a sinner?

Last week I attened a job fair.I noticed about 12 other older people there . We all were interviewed and at the end of the day we knew if we were hired. No older person got a job. I was not hired because of health problems. Two of the people had masters degrees in education. The were looking for part time work because their retirement was not enought. I was looking for part time work to take my time. All we seniors ask is give us respect & a chance. You too my learn from us.

I believe in God but organized religion has given me a bad opinion of a lot of people. A lot of double standards. If I missed church because I had to work (in a restaurant) people looked down on me, yet those same people eat out after church every Sunday. When I was single, the singles groups were "dating" groups, full of drama, gossip, the women talked about other women behind their back, the men compared notes on the women. I found myself "out" of the group because I wasn't there to find a "good" Christian man. Even my mom, who is in church every time the doors are open, is gossipy, critical, sometimes a snob.
My general experience is they put on the clothes, go to church to show everyone what a good Christian they are, do a few good deeds for the church(tithe, do some volunteering, pray, etc.) Once off the grounds, out in the world its back to being rude, self-serving, critical people.

We're talking about God the unfathomable, aren't we?

If, as many of you have argued, that Hitler could enter Heaven on grace alone (assuming his sincere repentance and lack of suicide), who is to say whether Hitler acted on behalf of God or not? After all, God (hypothetically) would let Hitler into heaven if he sincerely repented etc, right?

And to those who argue in favour of good works, I hear you. But you have to accept that there is a branch of Christianity that believes we are saved by grace alone, not by the good works we do. Consider Gandhi, good works but no heaven for being an unbeliever (assuming he remained Hindu at his death) (Rev 21:8).

This isn't meant to offend anyone. I am a christian and feel that being a christian changes my life. How does being an atheist change your life, and why would you want to be one especially if you were coming towards the end of your life?
