For those who claim Jesus authorized self-defense, soldiers, etc violence against others in any form, doesn't that make all those Christians thrown to lions idiots? They should have defended themselves, formed militias, etc? Better than being thrown to lions?

I was looking at this book and it saids,"Being straight is a choice, and everybody has homosexual feelings every once in their life, even while they're a child. Gay people just don't have the feelings for someone of the opposite sex, like they can't create a relationship with the opposite sex. One point in your life you choose to be straight, so most of the straight people are closet bisexuals."

Is this true, iv'e never had feelings for another woman, but the book said most, which means the majority and not all of us are bisexual.
Oh the book was called, Pshycic Things. My mom had it locked in her basement, so it could be old as dirt.

Yesterday a large number of people argued Hitler could get into heaven by sincerely repenting. Why argue that a life time of sin prevents anyone from repenting sincerely when Christian priests and ministers, etc attend prisoners on Death Row destined for execution?

Do you really believe that anyone who doesn't convert to your religion should die? It seems like this is the basis of your religion, could you please explain what really is at the core of your religion? It is hard to believe that a religion out there could be so bent on the destruction of the rest of the world. I've seen on the news when Muslim grouped get riled up when they are refered to as "Islamic fascists" but I don't see anyone standing up and saying any of these killings are bad things. I'm not trying to upset anyone with this question, I am just really curious to hear things from the point of view of a Muslim.

Anyone can answer but be sure to say whether you are an atheist or theist. This question is mainly for theists, what do you think of atheists besides the part about going to Hell. Be frank. Do you think we are all immoral, stupid, and pessimistic??

I am an atheist, but I am because I believe when human beings accomplish things through hard work, determination, effort, good will, enthusiasm, honesty etc, that it is OUR accomplishment and we should not thank God. I am not compelled to believe God exists due to lack of evidence. But the point is I am very moral and my morals are stronger than a lot of my Christian friends. Because I believe that the laws of nature and do unto others as you would have them do unto you and the American justice system are the ONLY deterrents and punishments that exist. There is no Hell to punish people. I believe in justice, but it is not God that enacts it, it is the collective will of the people, in our civil society.

I see so many refering to the soul and the spirit of man as synonomous in nature. The Bible clearly makes a distinction between body,soul and spirit. This is in contradistinction to the Greek philosophers idea of man as duality in nature; that being the soul and body. Does the failure to regard this difference in thinking affect the difficulties in interpreting man as being made in the image of God? Man as tripartite in being as opposed to dualistic? Your thoughts?

this country was founded on immigrants, also this country isnt even reall ours, it belongs to the native americans, maybe WE should go back to Europe and quit telling spanish people to get out of texas and cali(which was actually theres first) and stop telling black people to go to africa when WE'RE the ones who brought them here.
