If a friend says to you that they are in "hot water", are they REALLY standing in "hot water" or do you understand that they are in a troubling situation? Think of the phrase "hot water" as the shadow, think of your understanding that the reference is to a "troubling situation" as the thing casting the shadow. When you understand what is casting the shadow, you no longer look at the shadow. Consider Hebrews 10:1 "For the law having a shadow of good things to come, and not the very image of the things..." With that also consider, for an example, that the whole world has been deceived into the "fleshly" understanding of the flesh and blood of Jesus, seeing with spiritual eyes is completely different... http://community.livejournal.com/anewsfirm4144m/tag/crackers+and+grape+juice
To see with spiritual eyes is to see what is casting the shadow, not just the shadow. That's why Jesus often said regarding the Pharisees, that they have eyes, "but see not", Mat 13:13.

This is a simple one, there is a seen world and there is an unseen world. The worldly people can't see or hear things concerning the unseen world. Such as those that hate Jesus.

Gouge your real eyes out with a spork, then fill the holes in your sockets with pages from the Bible. Jesus will let you see with those, but only in black and white.

not exactly the usual term...but would say it refers to seeing with the spirit in which you look beyond the personality's physical facade and see their true self. May reveal other lives etc

To "see" what the fundamentalists want you to see.
Ignore fact and truth, and lose sence of reality so that all you "see" falls in line with the preachings of your fundamentalist teachings.
"Oh look at that gay person - I "see" a firey hat on his head,he must be a sinner"
"Oh look at Bush, I "see" a halo of light around him - how comforting"
"Oh look at our bombs that we drop on children, I "see" the will of God in their murderous power"
