The main aim is to get two points to achieve a higher Level. Others are maybe inspiered by the question and feel to say something stupid. Just let yourself go, get inspired and gather points. Have fun, and hey, don't forget to choose a best answer, you get another three points :).

btw, there's a button beneath "my score" it^s called "Tell me more". Click on it and you'll get some more facts about YahooAnswers.

Yeah, I do think those people do it for points. If I come across a question I can't answer and don't have anything to say about, I just don't answer it. I'd rather save my limited number of answers I'm able to give for something I can actually say something about. I don't care much about the points, though it is rather nice when I go up a levil.

I hope it's not because of the points...that would be pretty sad. I think it's because people just want to feel like they know about something even if they don't, they want to feel heard and important. As for the ones that actually answer with, I don't know...i think it's because they are the kids who come on here to play.

Mostly to get points. Don't mind that too much but I can't stand the people that don't read the question properly in the first place and end up being rude and insulting.

no more to do with the ability to scam a answer from someone else really, the two( pionts) are a bonus.

To get 2 points.

Even though loads of people have said just the same thing!!!!

When you get to level 2 you can rate answers - I often give a negative rating to people who do this - not sure what good it does though

Either they think they really know the answer or just want to offer an opinion.. points have a little to do with it too. Plus it is a little fun, too.

I can't answer that.

J/K Its for the points. Some people ask really stupid questions
and then its just a competition for who can be the wittiest with their answers.

are you asking why "they just give a nonsence answer", or, why they genuinly try to answer, but come up short on material,? just curious. I guess alot of them do it for the points, some seem to be a bit nasty at times and just want someone to lash out at, and some like to answer, hopeing that they appear bigger than their current scope of knowledge, and that someone will "fall for it."

Some are just being flippant, others are only interested in the points. But as "points don't make prizes" in this case, one wonders why.
