Assuming that all the basics are covered; family/friends/food/water/air etc, the one"extra" item i probably couldnt live without is my laptop. I had a good think about this, and i could live quite happily without the tv, i can play music on the laptop so that covers my stereo, i would find it hard not having books but i guess there's always something to read on the internet, and id miss my mobile too but again there is a way to contact people via the internet. Having thought through all those things, and being reluctant to answer "mascara" for fear of seeming *completely* shallow, i have decided that it would have to be the laptop, and that scares me a little to be honest, how materialistic we are as a nation.

I don't think I could live without the internet. I know it sounds sad, but having suffered from bad agrophobia after a breakdown, it was my life line. Without it, I would have had no contact with anyone other than my husband for 3 months.

You might consider my answer a little unusual but I would loathe not having my photograph albums. The pictures are a captured moment in time of my, and my family's life. Where we have been, what we have done, the people we've met etc.
I do enjoy going through them over and over again just to recall special moments in my life.

Money.
Not a lot of it, I'm not greedy, but as long as I had enough to feed and clothe myself. Everything else is a luxury, we are very privileged to have been born where we are in the world.

I don't think I could live without clothes- not like brand name clothes, but just something to cover up my body. I wouldn't want to be walking around nude and have people looking at me funny!

If it is an item and not people then it must be food. I would become really skinny without it.

excluding stuff like air, food etc I would say I would do badly without books. If books are more than one choice I will go for my faithful kettle as tea keeps me sane.
