There is a philosophical principle known as Occam's razor. The spelling of that is debatable, I'll go with this one for now. In a nutshell, it states that the simplest answer is the right one.

Animals eat each other. We began eating animals countless millenia ago, because we were not so different from them. We required proteins, fats and other essentials, and the flesh of another animal was the optimal way to get that. that hasn't changed. Yes, we could get the same nutrition from vegetables. It's difficult, though. Vegetarians need to be very careful, in order to ensure that they get the right things.

This is contradictory to Occam's razor. We have begun taking enormous steps to contradict our nature, and it's unnecessary. It's the way the world works. We feed off of each other (in reference to the whole animal kingdom) because it's the best way to get what we need.

So is it cruel? It would be cruel if we unnecessarily caused pain and suffering, whether physica or emotional, to another being. But we eat flesh to live, in the way our bodies evolved to do. That's not cruel. That's sensible.

Do you think it is cruel that wild animals eat another wild animal? Jesus allows us to eat animals after the flood. The people who dont eat animals are practically worshipping animals and that is wrong. We are not animals. That comes from evolution which is wrong. There is nothing wrong with loving animals. God gave us the right to subdue the earth. He also wants us to take care of it much like a gardener would take take of a garden and be proud of it.Genesis 1:26-31

one million. We confirm that animals are below us and hence it truly is okay to kill them. As people, we've also stated that females, black people, and Jews are below us, so it truly is okay to abuse and/or kill them if we please. only because we are saying that yet another residing, shifting, respiratory creature is below us does not mean it truly is genuinely below us. 2. I like animals too, I don't think there would be enough food for this world if you take them from the table.
God gave us power over them, and that meant keep them under control, if we didn't use them for food, not only do some animals kill and eat other animals, but, this planet would be so over run, they would be eating out food, then comes starvation for all living things in the world.
I do believe we need to control this businesses co. in the way they treat, and cause them to suffer.

Jesus ate fish. Eating animals to me isn't a matter of being cruel, its a matter of quantity control and hygiene. If we never ate animals, they would over populate. Cows produce methane gas and you know what that is doing to the ozone layer. (Skin cancer) We would have to multiply our farms and vegetable production to just keep up with feeding the world & animals. Food quality would drop & prices would enflate. we would all be malnourished.

Its okay to eat meat. We cant live without it. It has more nutrients in one piece while it would take more to get the same from vegetables.

God gave us the animals for food, so it is not cruel to kill and eat them. You don't have to eat them to survive, but if it's a food of choice for you, there is nothing wrong or cruel about it. Killing an animal for sport is what is cruel.

Most western society qualifies as carnivore. In our society it is OK to eat beef, foul, mutton/lamb, pork (religious avoidance of pork not withstanding), etc. Westerners tend not to eat cat or dog or Tweety Pie. It is for the individual to determine whether or not they are comfortable eating meat. Some people would never think of giving up the Super-Double/Triple-Monster Burger. Others would be repulsed by same. Personally, I just love really good vegetarian cooking. My husband, Mr. Meat Eater, LOVES my Zucchini Supreme, but still wants the chunk of beef regularly. And sometimes I do like that Monster Burger myself. If it weren't available, I would do just fine. To each his own.

It is only cruel if you do nto cook them properly - I hate overcooked and dried out animal flesh.

Actually I think that vegetarianism is more cruel. At least animals have the ability to run away or even defend themselves. Those poor veggies are killed in their beds for the sake of someone's salad or side dish...

God created animals and gave man dominion over them and we are not to be cruel to them but it is perfectly okay to use them as food, just as it is to use the fruits and vegetables created for human's to eat. I love animals too but I'm not beyond enjoying a good steak or salmon even.
