I agree with you to the point that, there are spots to put your cart back in the parking lot, but I don't always do it. I do have to say that when I go to a restaurant, I try to keep my table decent. I don't purposely mess it all up. Even when I am done I will stack my plates and kind of tidy up a bit. If a waiter sucks, I don't tip much either. It's not our fault they don't do their job well. Bus boys or girls don't get a tip, so that is why I try not to be so messy. As far as looking through tables for shirts or whatever, I try to fold it back nicely, but it still never looks just how they had it. In that case, that is their job and I don't think it's a big deal. Good question, girl!

I always put the cart back, that is what they make those little cart corral things for. Besides would you want your car hit by a cart that some lazy person couldnt take an extra 10 seconds to put back?. I try not to mess up the clothing piles but if i do, I will make an attempt to clean what I did but I will not clean up someone elses mess if it was already a mess when I got to it. I tip waiters and waitresses based on their performance. And even though this wasnt part of the question, I want to say that if I go to a buffet style restaurant, I try my hardest not to make a mess but if I do, I clean it up before I go back to my table. About 10 yrs ago I had a job at Shoney's in Ky and my job was keeping the salad bar clean and stocked. People were such pigs!! I was cleaning up spilled food more than anything so I have a newfound respect for restaurant workers after working there.

NO I don't make a mess to start with and when I do I do refold it and put it back where I got it. I would never put a pound of butter in the candy rack because I did not want it after going half way throu the store. But then again you do have to keep in mind that they get paid to do this. If it did not require to have 10 people hired in to pick up after everyone then the store would save money. This is true but even if all 10 was fired there would be a loss of jobs and they would be after your job. And do you think the store would lower the prices.. Not a chance it is called profit. They could say they got rid of them and the stocks would rise and they get a bigger bonis.
Lower the gas price.. lol how funny. It is up there and if the gas was to come down 10 dollars we would never see it. they have the prices up and will not bring the back down. .that would be a loss of profit.
So mess up as much as you like. it don't matter either way because the prices will come up anyway and those people really need the work and the money to feed their families. Sure they complain on how messy you are but they just don't understand that if it was not for you they would not have a job.

When i go to wal mart i always put the shopping cart back and pick up stuff i knock over..when i tip a waiter or waitress i always leave a good tip..esp when its busy if its very busy and the waiter or waitress is running around so much trying to serve the customers..and yes i found you a very rude young lady..of course these people who work at wal mart and restaurants get paid to do these jobs..but they have jobs to do..we only add more work when we put our shoppings all over the parking lot and we act like hogs and mess the store up like example leaving clothes and other products laying all over the floor..that Miss spoiled brat takes away from another customer who might need their help..When i was a teenager i worked those kinds of jobs and people like you are well hated and complained about..i bet every time you go on wal mart ..the wal mart people talk behind your back saying "there is that hoe who comes in here messing up the place" My experience of working in those types of places makes me appreciate wal mart employees and waitresses..so Miss Priss yes you are a very rude girl

I return the shopping carts everywhere I shop. I usually fold clothes if I have made a mess. I tip the waiter/waitress only if I believe they did their job, and if they didn't - in my opinion - do their job then I don't tip, or I tip less. It might be the store clerks job or the waiter/waitresses job, but think of it this way....costs go up when the stores need to hire and pay extra folk to straighten things up or haul in carts that are left in the parking lot, and the restaurants - not all - keep their prices down and rely on folk tipping, so they don't have to pay staff a lot, or charge customers more. Think about it.

Rude is not the word for what you are doing. You are exhibiting a lack of respect for the world around you. When you mess a table up in a store it is no different then if someone came into your home and messed up something. It is the same for people that litter. When they throw a drink cup out the car window it is the same as coming into your living room and throwing it on your floor. I have a feeling that you don't have a very satisfying life. Try behaving as though you cared about things and see what happens. The behaviors you show to others come back to you the same. Just be a better person, you will be happier. Really!

I think everyone should put stuff back and here's why. You, as a customer, do not get paid to do what you do, but the employee putting stuff back does. So this causes the company to have to take that employee away from something that can help that company be competitive by keeping its costs down. So eventually the company will have to raise its prices and charge people more money, all because of the actions of people like you. In fact, all of this may eventually cause that company to go out of business not only because it can't afford to keep doing both things thousands if not millions of times over and over, and because it can't compete having higher prices, but also because people who come in will see a pig-sty and go somewhere else (I would). What's so hard about taking an extra 30 seconds to do the right thing? And why don't you know this in a common-sense way already? Why do I have to tell you?

I think all working people should take pride in their jobs, but that doesn't mean I'll be making it harder for them to do it. I don't intentionally or unintentionally leave things more of a mess than when I found them. I put things back where I find them and try to keep the table mess to a minimum. If the same people came into my place of business, I'd expect the same treatment.
Like you, I always tip, but won't tip well if I feel like the waiter wasn't attentive. It's the person's job, and if you want to be appreciated for the job you've done, then do it well.

I put the shopping cart back about 99% of the time. Not back in the store, but I push it to the cart return. I try not to mess up the folded clothes, but sometimes it happens. When I re-fold things, I don't do as good a job as the employee who folded it though. Not because I can't, but because...I don't know. I'm lazy? lol I almost always tip. For great service, I tip sometimes 25% or more. For poor service, they get 10%, sometimes less.

I don't necessarily call it rude. In today's society you just blend in with the rest of the crowd. That is what most people do. I do take the shopping carts to at least those holders in the parking lot. I always try and refold clothes that I mess up. If the service was good I always leave a tip.
