Who actually wrote the book of Genesis? I mean, writing didnt exist in the time of the Garden of Eden, and if the story was passed down thru generations, it probably got mixed up. And God's not just going to share his story with us mortals, is he?

In the bible it says we will receive mansions and walk on streets of gold when we get to heaven. Doesn't this sound materialistic? Are we to be lured into heaven by material wealth? It is also said that it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than it is for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. If riches is the route of all evil, why make me rich and put me in a mansion when I die?

We all know that child porn is not only against the law but immoral. I started thinking though when I was looking through a sears catalog and saw the teen/pre teen clothing section. There's websites that show teens/pre teens and children modeling underwares and what not, wouldn't that be considered child porn in a sense of the way, i'm sure some sickos would get off on seeing them in their underware. Also what about naturists? They have get togethers and they are all naked including the children. Most of the time they take pictures and children are shown naked, does that not qualify as child porn? I believe some websites post these pictures as naturist or nudism, but children are depicted naked and i'm sure sickos get off on that too.

Ecclesiastes 3
19 For that which befalleth the sons of men befalleth beasts; even one thing befalleth them: as the one dieth, so dieth the other; yea, they have all one breath; so that a man hath no preeminence above a beast: for all is vanity.

I don't think it's bcs of the money.

Generally not only they have been traveling a lot or came from abroad and have met plenty of people.

They also are more keen to see the POSITIVE aspect in every of their experience or try to ENRICH THEMSELF in every experience they have.

Yes they are more OPEN than people having an ordinary life.

Our church started in 1986 with 30 people, we rented space in a school. After a few years we bought a building. 850k for the building and paid it off in a few years. We soon out grew that building, we had 11 weekend services to hold the people and had grown to 3500 people. We bought 40 acres next to a mall (very expensive place) and was about to build a new 3000 seat building. Going over the budget we were counting on the sale of the old church of about 1.3 million. When we all met, our pastor and several others starting thinking and said: How about we give the building AWAY FREE to another church...so we did, to a small African American congregation..they were floored to say the least....since then our church grew to 8500 and has spun off over 90 other churches.

I think it's because of GIVING away the building for FREE!!
That's how God works...human thinking would want the money.

What's your thought's on this?

It seems like most wiccans are teanage girls. Is this an accurate observation? If so, do people tend to give it up as they age, or is it typically a lifelong religion?

When Philip The Fair had several hundreds of the Templars (Christian Knights) rounded up and tortured (in order to sieze their lands) ... These knights were repeatedly tortured into confessing an odd blasphemous obscenity .. That being they admitted that in rituals they kissed the general hindquarters of a statue of the devil Baphomet .. The Templars besides being the founders of International banking, also in their seat at Jerusalem had for several hundred years protected pilgrims journeying to the Holy land ...
Numerous of these Templars , some who were eventually executed (Jacque du Molay among these ) .. and some who were eventually released after losing properties and name .. recanted this confession .. The papal seat also failed to come to the Templar's aid .. as it was in a precarious position ...
As there was really no precedent in pagan faiths for this macabre ritual .. do we now think it's elaboration was a concoction of anything but odd dark sinister twisted

Why does anyone have to be an idiot? So what if someone believes in Jesus or God or Allah or no God or a pink unicorn or an invisibile pink unicorn or evolution or a flying spaghetti monster?

Why is it that every day on yahoo answers someone reads a question by someone who doesn't have the same belief as the asker and the answer is "your an idiot".

What happened in society where we praise this kind of thing and don't expect the opposite.

Someone I am friends with last night said on her blog she was going to Church and trying to better her relationship with God and I said heh thats awesome I hope you find peace and she emailed me asking if I was joking cause she is so used to everyones sarcasm.

Sarcasm is cute and funny and can be made to make a great point I totally agree,

but calling someone an idiot or the belief idiotic, or any unintelligent word thats similar, isn't sarcastic or cute or funny, its rude.

Don't be a Dr. Dick. Be someone cool. Nice is cool.
peace

So, what is the joke?

a poster on this forum said that to believe in God and creation was like believing in pink unicorns and sky pixies. i responded with this:
I thought unicorns were a myth too but check this out

numbers 23:22 God brought them out of Egypt; he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn.

deuteronomy 33:17 His glory is like the firstling of his bullock, and his horns are like the horns of unicorns: with them he shall push the people together to the ends of the earth: and they are the ten thousands of Ephraim, and they are the thousands of Manasseh.

and there are 7 more mentions of the unicorn

During a quiet moment recently, I was pondering this mess in Israel and Mel Gibson's alleged comments about Jews starting all of the trouble and wars in this world. I became suddenly aware that as a whole, the Hebrews are a very peace loving people. They stay right to them selves and leave everyone else alone and wish to be left alone. They are not out stomping around the earth trying to make everyone bend to their will. They are safe and secure with their own beliefs and do not care what the world thinks. So, how is it that a religion, based so staunchly on peace and love could be the basis for so, so, many wars throughout history? I have begun to feel that Christians as a whole are a real violent bunch. I feel guilty for questioning what I and all of my ancestors have believed for so long. Does any one have any bible passages that can help me sort this out? For the first time in my life, I wonder, was Jesus the Mesiah?
