We are spoiled. Plain and simple. We do not have to hunt, or forage for food daily. With pizza delivery and fast food we do not even half to stand and cook dinner.
We no longer are at the mercy of mother nature, with our billion dollar homes, and vacation retreats.
Of course this is America, and we have a choice.
My opinion, for what it is worth, is I am glad I have a choice. But mine is not to be lazy, why waist a day that will be gone tomorrow.

Yes, they have. they have also become the most obeseeDuring the past 20 years, obesity among adults has risen significantly in the United States. The latest data from the National Center for Health Statistics show that 30 percent of U.S. adults 20 years of age and older—over 60 million people—are obese.
This increase is not limited to adults. The percentage of young people who are overweight has more than tripled since 1980. Among children and teens aged 6–19 years, 16 percent (over 9 million young people) are considered overweight.
These increasing rates raise concern because of their implications for Americans’ health. Being overweight or obese increases the risk of many diseases and health conditions, including the following:
Hypertension
Dyslipidemia (for example, high total cholesterol or high levels of triglycerides)
Type 2 diabetes
Coronary heart disease
Stroke
Gallbladder disease
Osteoarthritis
Sleep apnea and respiratory problems
Some cancers (endometrial, breast, and colon)
Although one of the national health objectives for the year 2010 is to reduce the prevalence of obesity among adults to less than 15%, current data indicate that the situation is worsening rather than improving. This site provides a variety of information designed to help people understand this serious health issue and the efforts being made to address it.

I strongly agree. take for example the import/export status. when is the last time you looked on the bottom of something and it said "Made in America"? We barely export any materials and almost all the materials we use today are made in other countries that we shipped the parts to. We have gotten so lazy that we, instead of having a diplomatic conversation we fight back, we are acting,as an nation, like a child who wants their toy back and instead of talking out our problem we just choose to fight back. I can foresee this country being classified as a "Third World" in a decade or two.

Let's see... The US puts people and probes into space, has the biggest highway network in the world, has more homes with electricty and clean water than any other nation with remotely the same population, has free schooling for 13 years for children, has a military that protects most of the world (are you going to run to China and ask for protection if you're threatened?), and produces the movies/TV shows that most of the world watches and the music that most of the world listens to.
Golly... maybe you need to define "lazy."

properly, I actually have donated to Goodwill and Salvation military, Wounded Warriors, the Vietnam Vets, assorted homeless human beings, 4H, the lady Scouts, the Boy Scouts, the certain Olympics, and a soup kitchen all because the start of 2013 and that i'm a adverse grad student. he's a magnate (even possibly a billionaire) so i'm truly no longer stimulated that he's donated to that few of businesses (and publicized his donations or you doesn't study about them). For him it is likely less costly PR to donate funds to charities, now to not instruct it truly is a tax write off. For me, I commonly finally end up claiming the classic deduction (round $5,000) because even inspite of the undeniable fact that i visit in uncomplicated words artwork area time with grad college, I nevertheless donate a severe area of my income. regrettably, once you're making $22,000 and donate round $2,000 and spend yet another $7,000+ on college you nevertheless do not get a destroy, even inspite of the undeniable fact that you're really residing in poverty and with unreported help of your very beneficiant dad and mom at age 27 (sigh. They nevertheless ought to pay for my *required* $100 and fifty/month well being coverage for faculty). So me donating $2,000 a three hundred and sixty 5 days is waaaaaaaaay more effective percentage wise than him donating casually to all of those businesses by skill of out his complete occupation. that's why i in my view am no longer stimulated. On suitable of that, he's a jerk. He has insulted such an rather good type of human beings and acted so disrespectfully that donating a fragment of a p.c. of his each and each year income is meant to make up for it? that's why human beings don't love him.

I don't know about lazy but we are creating a selfish nation. Too many parents give their kids too much stuff, don't teach basic manners, blame bad behavior on music, tv, etc. No one disiplines their children and won't let anyone else do it either. These kids will be running the country one of these days.

Yes, I think so, and I'm an American. Our laziness leads to ignorance, arrognace, intolerance, sense of entitlement, lack of work ethic and weight gain. If you don't like something? Sue. If you get hurt? Sue. Compare every country and everyone to America and Americans, and think that the American Way is the only way. I could go on, but I'd better stop now.
