Have you ever felt a vague disquiet at the possibility that perhaps the only thing that the faith of those people (Parents, Pastors, Role Models) who tell you to believe in the Bible (Catholic or Protestant) is based on is that they were once told the same? In other words, if you say that you believe in the Bible because you have faith, what exactly is your faith based on? Specifics, please.

You will often hear such examples as, “I am very exciting because I am going on vacation!” Some do not make the distinction between words like exciting and excited. Do you know what the rule is?

How would you explain/show the difference between:

a) I am bored
and
b) I am boring

Is honesty a valid excuse?

Having read a number of the questions in the "Religion and Spirituality" section, I've been struck by the number of people -- both questioners and respondents -- who have suggested not only that proof of the existence of God (or of the veracity of Christian doctrine) is possible but also that such proof would be a good thing. This shocks me, for I have always thought that the existence of proof for either of these propositions would actually be hugely damaging because it would undermine faith. Those who think evidence possible and beneficial, though, seem to have a very different view of the impact that tangible proof would have on faith. Hence the question I've submitted: Wouldn't proof actually _destroy_ faith? If it wouldn't then in what way would it be salutary with respect to faith?

it seems like insults, curses, swearings are directed at a person constantly
i personally don't do any of these to other people whether or not i have comments on them unless they do it to me first
i really hate it when a person does nothing to harm another person and another person says stuff like:
dumba*ss
f*uck you
b*itch
d*ick
get a life
you s*uck

i mean even if these are causual conversations, i would never say these to people because when i heard them directed to me, i feel hurt and i start examine what has gone wrong in my life that makes me receive such criticism

i think i may be too paranoid about this, but wouldn't it be better if people can live in a world free of POINTLESS insults?

Seems like there is not one good, not one evil, but two. Example, By creating life, death was created. Life, good or bad? Death, good or bad? Would you want to live forever? Would you have liked to have never existed?
Neither right, neither wrong.
Love, good or bad? Hate, good or bad?
Should we love everything? Should we hate everything?
Perfection good or bad? Imperfection, good or bad?
Should we be better than everybody else? Should we be less?
Jesus good or bad? Was Jesus perfect or imperfect?
Jesus, right or wrong? The Bible, logical or illogical? People, logical or illogical?
Religion, good or bad? Anti- religion, good or bad?
Should we all have faith? Should we all have free will?

Have you ever noticed? You can be from the same race, but yet look very different if you are from different countries. And this is in spite of the fact you are not a person of a mixed marriage.

For example, when I am in Australia, I can distinguish quite clearly an Australian of British decent and one who is from the UK. This has nothing to do with how the person speaks or behave. All you need to do is to look at the person and you can tell he ain't Aussie.

Likewise, when I introduced my Japanese friend to the Japanese community in Australia, he told me immediately they didn't look exactly like his people back home. He told me they look quite different from that of his people.

Likewise, American Anglo Saxson don't look exactly like their counterparts in the UK or Australia.

Why is it people of the same race can look different if they are of different nationalities?

so I'm in a long, dark room and I see Natalie Portman in the distance, covered in frosting.

she slowly walks towards me, making that weird noise and spasm from Garden State the ENTIRE time (it feels like it takes ten minutes or more before she gets to me).

then she stops right next to me, morphs into Jar Jar Binks, and spits a strawberry in my face repeatedly.

after this she turns back to herself, takes a few steps back, and begins running in circles (she always makes three complete circles before stopping).

finally, she stops, faces me, pulls out a gun, and starts firing.

then I wake up.

1. Since when God like to be a Father?
2. Do you think God need a Holy Spirit to alive?
3. God create Jesus. God did not give birth to Jesus. So how come Jesus has the title "The son of god"?

I do not attempt to bash you. Just want to see how SMART you are my friend.

would like to find out that God was a real being who cared about you? . I don't want to know about why you know that he couldn't be real, or about how you think that it would be so terrible if he was. Please, stick to the question. Do any of you wish that God would show you that he is here? Polite answers only, please.
