What is destroying our beautiful society is intolerance. Jesus taught that, too, if I'm not mistaken.
Yes, those actions you mentioned are wrong. But you have to understand that when people do things like that, they are in pain. They are disconnected from a loving higher power. If they could understand how to do things differently, they would.
How about demonstrating God's love through your own actions? Even to people you don't like who are doing things you don't approve of. They are God's creation, too.
That doesn't mean going around converting others either. Everyone has different ideas about spirituality, and everyone is right, too. Many people all over the world live peacefully and in harmony with their creator and their fellows without subscribing to Christianity. And many Christians don't.
It doesn't matter what you believe in, it only matters that you believe.

I'm tired of your closed minded crap questions. Open up a little. everyone has a different feeling about how the universe works. What makes you think a biggot like you will get into heaven over me? get over yourself, and try listening to what other religions have to say. I don't go shoving my beliefs down your throat, you should quit doing it yourself. I don't believe in abortion, or adultery, and I'm not christian. I know christian preists who molest children at those lovely after church gathering you were talking about. I also know christians who commit more crimes than nonchristians. You should research your fact better. Have a nice day. I hope you burn in h e l l for being a closed minded jerk off!!!!!!!!!!

You view is actually what the Pilgrims saw of America. The pilgrims were punished for their vision of God which had discrepencies with the Anglican Church of England.
Historians would agree that America is not that land. It is currently a land in which all people worship God and/or Jesus. Historians DO agree that America, in its deepest level, is what the people are. It's what everyone decides. It can be pro-choice, pro-prostitution, and evolutionary.
Historians also agree on another thing: America, love it or leave it.

Anyone can say they're a Christian. Even the devil. EVEN YOU! But are we supposed to take your polemic seriously? Offhand, the words erupting from your mouth sound almost cartoonish. Was Jesus trying to build a Christian society? I don't recall that. In fact, a Christian society is a contradiction in terms. Jesus was ALL about individual behavior. He probably would have vomited at your Walt Disney version of Christianity. Oh how precious! We all go to church on sundays and we sing and eat together! Oh, hello Father. Yes, here's my 5 dollars for the collection plate. And don't you worry about little Tommy. He won't say anything. Your secret is safe with us.

People in the church can't even get along. It's not about hearing the Word, we have to be doers of the Word. Those of us who are in Christ have a sin nature to contend with just like everyone else.
If you consider some of Paul's writings to the church, namely to the Corinthians(chapter 5) they were in sexual sin.
The prince of the power of the air Ephesians 2:2-
along with our sin nature just might have something to do with it

in this particular situation from the recent comments i have read, you are throwing your pearls to the swine. only preach or try to save those who are ready to accept god. as jesus said if a city will not accept you then go out of that city and dust off your feet. i personally cannot wait for the judgement day when all the people who criticise god and jesus will have to bend down on one knee and beg for mercy and forgiveness and be denied and be thrown into the fiery debts of hell. but their soul or belief is not my business. we must first get the mote out of our eyes to see clearly to get the mote out of another's eyes unless we are hypocrites. do not judge sin unless you do not sin another words. i do not believe in evolution, in which they are more and more realizing that it is actally scientifically incorrect, but i am not threatened by it because i do not feel it is real. i am not defensive about evolution i just say that is their way of belief and move on because i am at peace with my own beliefs. if people who do not believe in god are so at peace with their beliefs as i am why do they feel the constant need to be on a constant defense like they get a high from it. if they don't believe they need to leave the subject as it is instead of calling it names or the people who believe in it names. if they are not threatened by it then why do they act so inferior to it?? the devil is the invisible ruler of the world. and jesus said you cannot serve two masters if you do not serve god then who is it that you serve? it must be satan. and jesus said be exceedingly glad when they persecute you for my names sake. no servant is better than the master if they persecuted me then they will persecute you. be glad that the non believers persecute you it is proof that you are following gods will to give up your pride in such a way.

Yeah, the world saw what happens when everyone is forced to follow Christianity.
And, was the primary reason the founding fathers established the US as an atheist (secular) nation.
Christians destroy far more than they create or motivate.

I totally agree with the person who said your christians are more responcible for violence per capata. Christians think THEIR way is the only way. Inner Peace is Inner Peace, no matter the route taken. Change religions!

How drunk are you? Have you ever read a *sentence* about American history?
I recommend you go create a commune somewhere out of the way of civilization. I'll tell the coyotes you're coming.
