asafaah,
I think you mean Roman Catholics. If I am correct, it's they who pray that way while making the hand gestures.
They are talking about God when they do that. They believe in the Trinity, as do I.
"IF HE IS THEN WHY DID HE SAY OF MINE OWN SELF I CAN DO NOTHING.PLEASE EXPLAIN."
I'll try my best to state this right; it does get complicated. Jesus was from the beginning (John1) the Word of God. He became the Son of God to fulfill the concept of the kinsman redeemer found in Ruth, the Old Testament. As Jesus walked on the Earth He was God in the flesh, and yet the kinsman redeemer, being a man, So this God/man was the foretold Savior/Messiah.
I'm adding this part because I realized that I did not go far enough.
He was talking as the man, who was subject to the Father when he said that.

He is God. That is why Christians pray to Him.
Jesus was saying that God is not divided. You will not have a situation where God the Father says one thing, and Jesus says No the Father is wrong, or the Holy Spirit says Jesus is wrong.
Jesus is God in human form.
---
Here is a brief synopsis of the Trinity:
There is only ONE God. He manifests himself in three personas/persons/manifestations for the purposes of the redemption of, and relationship with, human beings.
Contrary to what some people say, there is nothing irrational or illogical about this concept (of the Trinity).
For an explanation (and defense) of the doctrine of the Trinity, see http://www.godsci.org/gs/sect/doc/trinity.html
Cordially,
John

Jesus, the only begotten son of God, and the second person of the Holy Trinity is unique because only he possesses divinity, PLUS a human body and soul.
From the Catholic Catechism:
"The unique and altogether singular event of the Incarnation of the Son of God does not mean that Jesus Christ is part God and part man, nor does it imply that he is the result of a confused mixture of the divine and the human.
He became truly man while remaining truly God.
Jesus Christ is true God and true man."
When Jesus took on flesh in order to redeem us, he never ceased to be truly God, but in his humanity, he chose to operate just as any other human man would, except for sin.
He ate, slept, drank, walked, and talked. If he stubbed his toe, it hurt, or even bled. He aged. He might have even caught cold.
All the miracles that had been accomplished by Moses and the others whom God had sent before Jesus, were accomplished solely by the power of The Holy Spirit, who proceeds from God the Father and God the Son.
Since Jesus "emptied" himself in order to truly live the life of an ordinary human, the miracles that he performed while "in the flesh" were also accomplished, not by his divine self, or by his own power, but by the the power of the Holy Spirit, proceeding from God the Father.
So Jesus was telling the truth when he said he could do nothing by himself, but he wasn't denying the fact that he is God.
He "emptied" himself in order to prove that a typical human could indeed live a sinless existence, and be totally pleasing to God.
He did it perfectly for over 30 years, obedient and sinless to the very end, even unto death on the cross.
But of course, death wasn't the end for Jesus.
It was by his resurrection that Jesus' human body and soul, along with his divinity, were eternally reunited, and at last, truly revealed.
That's how we know a perfect, divine man reigns in Heaven today, seated at the right hand of God, the Father.
We faithfully expect him to come again to judge the living and the dead ... and his kingdom will have no end.

Okay, You don't understand this concept. I am a Christian and I do NOT pray in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit. I pray to God (in Jesus' Name).
Jesus was a man, just like us, only He was able to overcome His temptations and we are not (always able.) We are able to overcome a great deal when we have the Holy Spirit in us. Jesus had the Holy Spirit in Him. 100%. God has the Spirit in Him, too. The Spirit is the essence of God and Jesus and we strive to have it be the essence of us, as humans.
So, God and Jesus work together in everything they do, and the Spirit is part of that too. They don't do anything without the others. They are ONE....Imagine One person with 3 bodies. There s one brain in control of the three bodies. They must agree and work together, because they are really One Body!

Your question is a bit mixed up.
Christians believe that the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are God in three persons, a trinity.
The writing from Paul that I can do nothing of myself was referring to himself, not God. He saw his weakness and need for God in that statement.

Chirstian's trinity is wrong.
compare it with Islam
When we pray or do any work we say: in the start
(with) In the Name of Allah, The Most Beneficient, The Merciful.
Because there is one God, and HE is Almighty Creator and the Superior of all in universe.
You are thinking in right direction you just need to research, i would like to recommend you please visit:

It looks like you've made it your mission to draw people away from God. I wonder who could be influencing you to do such a thing? But you already know who's influencing you don't you? You do now.
God bless you my friend. He loves you.
