Remember in the movie Bruce Almighty when Jim Carey just says "yes" to everyone's prayers, and then all the hundreds of people who prayed to win the lottery actually won, but they only got like $10 each, and they were so mad they rioted in the streets? Funny. Sorry, that was a little off topic. No, I've never prayed to win the lottery. I don't buy lottery tickets.

I was at a Kentucky Derby party and won the Polish lottery ($200!). I attribute my stunning victory to the fact that I was the lone Baptist amid a sea of Catholics.

That, my friend, would be an example of praying for the wrong thing. Praying is not about asking for things. It's not about being selfish and greedy.
Praying, for me, is a time to speak with my Lord. To ask Him for guidence, to ask Him for strength, to apologize for my mistakes, to give thanks, and to wish blessings on others.
