Good question.
I used to be an atheist. Over a period of time however, I grew convinced of the existence of the Christian God, and ultimately committed my life to Christ (e.g., see http://www.godsci.org/gs/chri/testimony/seek.html ).
Cordially,
John

The universe in its birth - is God (Alpha). The universe in its death is God (Omega). Therefore, even though God is not real for somebody now - He will be, He was and He will manifest when the chaotic universe ceases to exist. It is the same as when you die. Although you may die today....and the universe 'dies' in 10^1000 years - for you it will only be a second - from your death to the resurrection of yourself. Why? Because when you are dead the concept of time is of no relevance to you. So when you wake up in 10^1000 years (which only took a second for you) God will be before you. The universe is energy - energy is never lost - therefore God will manifest before you in the end.

Yes, I am an athiest and I wish that there was a God who would show up and tell me about himself...if he could provide a logical explanation for all the horrible things we all see and go through...if he can't explain that to my satisfaction, I'd just as soon he stay away from me.

If god exists, then yeah, I'd like him to let me know. It would involve a rather lengthy discussion with him though; merely appearing out of the clouds is no good. After all, a very powerful being is not necessarily a god.
Whether or not he cares about me is largely irrelevent, as far as i'm concerned. I'd like to know as a matter of curiosity about the universe, not as a matter of comfort.

The best way to teach people that God is real is to LOVE them WITHOUT preaching - including unfairly bounded questions that are preachy. Come to the dialog with another person without judgments, without any need to convert or teach or preach, just love the other person -- otherwise, what people see is nothing but a person's ego and God gets pushed out of the way.

Depends.....on which god showed up.
Pan - hey c'mon lets party.
Poseidon - oh yeah bring yourself here
Zeus - hmmmm that's iffy
Thor - okay, but NO thunderbolts in the house
Ra - sure, but tone it down a little
Shiva - let's dance
Odin - come and sit a spell
Lugh - let's feast
Jehovah/Yahweh - No thank you.

No. I wish they'd lock me away in a mental facility if I ever started hallucinating that I see god.
...unless I'm on LSD or shrooms at the time, of course.

It is irrelevant to me.
I'm nearly 60 years old and have yet to see any credible evidence of his (its?) existence, so I do not sit around waiting for any such evidence to miraculously appear.
Especially in an Internet forum populated by people repeating the same tired messages I've heard most of my life.

If God could reveal itself to me, clearly and definitively, I'd be right there. I doubt it could happen however, but I'd b pleased to allow it.

We are the gods and we have no god above or below us.
