it seems like insults, curses, swearings are directed at a person constantly
i personally don't do any of these to other people whether or not i have comments on them unless they do it to me first
i really hate it when a person does nothing to harm another person and another person says stuff like:
dumba*ss
f*uck you
b*itch
d*ick
get a life
you s*uck

i mean even if these are causual conversations, i would never say these to people because when i heard them directed to me, i feel hurt and i start examine what has gone wrong in my life that makes me receive such criticism

i think i may be too paranoid about this, but wouldn't it be better if people can live in a world free of POINTLESS insults?

Yes, you're right, we say them without even realizing it. Kids say them without truly knowing what they mean. My 19 year old step-daughter used one that is becoming very common now and is such a horrible word and she used it to call her OWN MOTHER (not me but my husband's ex) a douche bag! And she laughed and when I chastised her and made her take it back and apologize for demeaning her mother in such a manner she looked at me like I was crazy for overreacting. She had no idea what the phrase meant!

The only thing I can say is this, its a new generation and a new time. Not all people are like this. It depends on how you were raised and how you respect others. For those who are raised with manners, they show it to others. We also must remember the appreciation that a person has for others. It all goes bad to the saying, "treat others the way you want to be treated."

All true but, if someone insults you, is rude, or nasty, this gives you the green light to tell them to go and eat a bowl of "d*ick's" !
