I have noticed that alot of the older population of the congregation will not stand or sing along when very contemporary hymns are sung. These are generally accompanied by guitar and drums. They just sit there and look really pissed off. Can you give me any opinions on why that is?

I mean, don't people have a chose as to what they listen to or read? If someone is talking to you about something you don't want to hear can't you tell them you not interested and leave you alone? If someone is preaching on TV, can't you turn the channel? If someone post a question on Yahoo! Answers, no one is forcing you to read it. I haven't seen any Christians walking up to people at gun point so they are not forcing anything on you that you don't allow. I didn't become a Christian until I was about 19 or 20 and I never had a problem with Christians "forcing" anything on me cuz I let them know I didn't want to be bothered. So, can someone tell me how Christian beliefs can be forced on them.

I am saying my Psalms every day...look at # 83 JEWS

2006-08-09 09:27:29 · 16 answers · asked by Anonymous in Religion & Spirituality

After all, so many people in the world do not like jews (not me, I am not anti-semitic) that maybe the time has come for the jews to do a self assesment. For example, if I was having problems at work with everybody that was not in my department, even if I preceived myself to have done everything great and perfect, I would have to change my ways in order to stabilize my work environment. Isn't it time that jewish people start saying to themselves, maybe WE ARE doing something wrong here. How could it be possible that jews have done nothing wrong throughout history, and yet so many people still hate them?

Ok, everyone accepts that a woman's head should be covered, but then some women turn around and say that hair is the cover it talks of.

Well, how can they be right when it says: 'If a woman does not cover her head: she should have her hair cut off'? 1st Corr; 11.6. How can she have her hair cut off if she's bald? Anyway, the two words are different in ancient Greek.

You're all full of it when you say 'Jesus never sinned'.
You christians claim that he was human and then in the same breath say he was perfect.
You can't have it both ways.
Humans are not perfect and they make mistakes. So he was either human or he wasn't. There's no 'he was both'. That is illogical.
Not to mention you all like saying things (when not talking about this particular subject noticeably) that ALL HUMANS ARE SINNERS and there's no avoiding it.

Supernatural creature that shouldn't have had any of the problems that humans had like oh, I don't know DYING ?

or

Human who sinned?

It's one of the other. Take you pick.

A great deal of juvenile, nonsensical and vulgar language and content appears on this site in both the questions and answers. What can or should be done about this? Where may those looking for serious exchange of views go to avoid this or is the entire Internet simply vulnerable to this type of participation?

4444 times. Becoz "God" appears 4444 times in The Holy Bible.
I challenge you. You dare accept my chalenge. If you can't do that why don't you accept the truth?? Are you still blind, deaf and dumb--when you see the crystal clear truth of God's Holy Word.
I am fed up with you.I challenge you.

The news is full of stories regarding child sexual abuse and paedophilia, especially by people in responsible positions like school teachers, scout masters, religious leaders and so on.

Which type of child sexual abuse do you consider to be the worst?

In my view, all child abusers are evil, but by far the worst is child sexual abuse by a religious leader like a priest, vicar, or preacher, because religious people tend to have unfaltering blind faith in God, and God’s representatives.

Religious people only seem to see total goodness in their God and the Bible, and those leaders who promote such work, and so any abuse by people in religious positions should be recognised as one of the most horrific, if not the most horrific, crimes against humanity.

Excellent!..now the real question.
Why do people believe in the bible/koran written 2,000 years ago by schizophrenic drug addicts, but don't believe in bus timetables, written 2 months ago by schizophrenic drug addicts?
Surely it's all a pack of lies?
God has not been to this place for 2,000 years according to the bible/koran.
The number 73 to Tescos has not been to this place for three weeks.

My point is....,when is the second coming(ooer) and where's the ferkin bus Jesus?
