How come America is so racist as a country when it claims itself to be a so-called 'melting-pot'? I have personally experienced racism in America and would like to say it can not only be very upsetting, but very disturbing as well, especially when you are deliberately picked on for nothing when the 'white' guy is never troubled at all by members of any other race.

a race all its own. I mean like having a box on an application for people of black /white race only. I don't think it is fair that I have to select just one box. And that box always has to be black due to the 1/16th rule. I often select both..what do you think

i mean columbus didn't go around forcing everyone to think the world was round, he provedit. so how about all you gaylor.ds shut up until they find the gay gene.

until then we have 2 viable theories:

a) you are born that way
b) it's a choice

and im not INTOLERANT for believing the latter until you prove me wrong, since you bear the burden of proof.

KEEP AN OPEN MIND.

In Matthew 24, Jesus relates to his disciples Things that are to come after his crucifixion.

“If those days had not been cut short, no one would survive, but for the sake of the elect those days will be shortened.
"At that time the sign of the Son of Man will appear in the sky, and all the nations of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man coming on the clouds of the sky, with power and great glory. And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet call, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of the heavens to the other.
This doesn’t sound to me like the resurrection of Christ. Talk of ‘the elect’ being gathered together by the angels does not sound like the events that took place after the crucifixion. I would say that we are still waiting for Jesus to ‘appear in the sky’ to ‘gather the elect’ two thousand years later. But the gospel goes on to say.

I tell you the truth, this generation will certainly not pass away until all these things have happened. Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will never pass away.

Did Jesus get it wrong?

Read it for all the good, virtues and morals, or is that the reason you dont want to become Christian, its too much work, you want to do life the self serving way

I'm not saying ALL Christians do this--so if this doesn't describe you, no need to make nasty comments.
But there seems to be an abundance of folks who are so very quick to judge others.
Prime example: my Mom is one of the most spiritual, wonderful persons I'm honored to know.
My sister-in-law gave her a really hard time cuz she got a tiny butterfly tattoo. Started spouting crap about being worried that she may not see Mom in Heaven; that Mom blew it cuz she put something on her body that the Lord didn't intend. PUH---LEEEEEEZE!!
This sis-in-law wears SO much make-up!! EEEK! (She shouldn't wear any,cuz she has a gorgeous face!)
I wanted to smack her & point out the obvious: Your icky blue eye shadow & 8 coats of mascara---uh...don't think that's any more 'real' than Mom's sweet butterfly tattoo...
I never said anything, but I am SO tempted to!!
That is just one example.
The longer I live, the less I believe in 'organized religion'. Too much hypocrisy for me.

while brainstorming i pondered if a gay male married a gay female they could reverse role play and still fall underr the category as a male and female marriage. i think it's sad though how some gay s are not legally recognized at crucial times such as last will in event of death much less by one anothers parental figures prohibiting a "partner" legally from having any vsitation rights and such where i come from. that aspect seems phathoms deep to some gays i have encountered.

All of us are on a downward spiral to the grave. Our heartbeat is like a drum beat as we continually march to our own death. My question is simple. How often do you consider death, and what impact does this have on your life? Most people I know say "well you just live and then you die, so enjoy it as much as possible." If you believe this way, do you truly find satisfaction in this?
