1.Satan represents indulgence instead of abstinence!
2. Satan represents vital existence instead of spiritual pipe dreams!
3. Satan represents undefiled wisdom instead of hypocritical self-deceit!
4. Satan represents kindness to those who deserve it instead of love wasted on ingrates!
5. Satan represents vengeance instead of turning the other cheek!
6. Satan represents responsibility to the responsible instead of concern for psychic vampires!
7. Satan represents man as just another animal, sometimes better, more often worse than those that walk on all-fours, who, because of his “divine spiritual and intellectual development,” has become the most vicious animal of all!
8. Satan represents all of the so-called sins, as they all lead to physical, mental, or emotional gratification!

5:14 Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly,
and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord,
5:15 and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up.

James 5:14-15

So what's every one doing for Lammas? I'm not really celebrating so to speak, but I'm casting a communication spell for myself to help me to explain how I feel when I see my counsillor (I've got anxiety issues). It was given to me a while ago from a friend, but I've been waiting until my first appointment to cast it. Still, I'll probably still bake some bread tomorrow to make the whole thing seem a bit more Lammasy! Let me know what you're doing?

ALSO, IF YOU'RE NOT PAGAN, WICCAN, OR FOLLOW ANYTHING OF THIS NATURE, OR PLAN ON CRITIZING MINE OR SOMEONE ELSES' BELIEFS, THEN PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE A MESSAGE - SOME OF THE THINGS PEOPLE SAY ARE REALLY OFFENSIVE. THANK YOU ;-)

Isn't it a requirement of believing in God that you have to take a leap of faith? How almighty could any God possibly be if you could prove or disprove His/Her existence with science or philosophy?

I would prefer that you not quote any scripture, I am well acquainted with many holy writings thank you very much. I also would prefer that you treat this as a thought-provoking discussion rather than an opportunity to convert. Thanks.

I don't see it like I do with Gay men and straight women. I'm sure not all Lesbians think every straight man wants to see you and whoever doing what you do? Thats just a generalization. my natural inclincation as a straight man is. There is a line drawn between the two of us IE straight men and Gay women. Is there? I would assume we'd get along fine but does our testorone vs your version of it clash or what?

I know that there are people who can't take no for an answer.

In my opinion, people should sometimes(not always) take no for an answer. These people need to understand that others have their own limits, especially emergencies.

I think that saying no is very useful because it frees oneself from a lot of stress, overcommittment, anger, frustration, sadness, guilt, and regret. I mean saying "no" in a polite and non-offensive way.

My question is....
Why won't they accept "no"?

It's up to you to prove that god does exist

If you can't prove the tooth fairy doesn't exist, Does that mean she does exist?

I know that it is in the New Testament, and later in the verse I think it says that we are aliens in a foreign land. I just can't remember where it's found. It sounds like something Paul or Peter would have said, but I can't find anything. Any help is greatly appreciated.

I've been dating the same man for 2 years. We're in the stage in our relationship where we're looking towards our future together. I am Lutheran and I consider my religion to be extremely important to me. My boyfriend was raised Catholic and since his mom died when he was 17, he has drifted away from church and God. I've tried talking to him about it and he thinks he isn't ready yet to go back to church. I'm frustrated because we've talked about getting married, and he knows that I want my kids to be raised in church, baptized Lutheran and have a dad that will share and raise them in a Christian enviroment. I pray for him every night and I have been for 2 years now, but I'm afraid that it's just not going to work for him, he won't even try to talk about it with me. He says he does believe in God, but I want someone who will share my faith with me for the rest of my life. i love him so much, but I'm becoming more and more insecure about us?? Any advice??

Many times the answers I get are "Jesus is truth" or "Trust in God" or "God works in mysterious ways". The majority of the time these answers do not even fit the question asked. Is it too much to ask that rather than get parroted back the same old statements on a repeated basis we get thought out answers? There are many believers that do this, but there are more that just use the same old rhetoric.

There is a story told by most Muslim scholars about prophet Muhammed had an argument with his companions about what should they do with the captives of war (Badr Battle) and he finally decided to release them for ransom (money). The story tells that god did not agree on what prophet Muhammed did and he revealed a verse [8:67] that says no prophet would release any war captives until he has thoroughly subdued the whole earth and killed all pagans first!

That story makes me think of two questions:
1- Was it appropriate from prophet Muhammed to release captives of war for ransom (money)? was not this exactly what pirates used to do? Does this fit a prophet with wonderful teachings?
2- How come god orders Muslims to kill pagans and not to capture (or free) them? Should not god be more tolerant and leave it to people to accept Islam or not?
