I know it says you aren't supposed to judge others in the bible, I need the actual verse. Anyone know? Thanks

“Stop judging that you may not be judged; for with what judgment you are judging, you will be judged; and with the measure that you are measuring out, they will measure out to you. Why, then, do you look at the straw in your brother’s eye, but do not consider the rafter in your own eye? Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Allow me to extract the straw from your eye’; when, look! a rafter is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First extract the rafter from your own eye, and then you will see clearly how to extract the straw from your brother’s eye."

Genesis 2:16-17

16
The LORD God gave man this order: "You are free to eat from any of the trees of the garden
17
except the tree of knowledge of good and bad. From that tree you shall not eat; the moment you eat from it you are surely doomed to die."

=====================
According to the Bible, man was perfect until he attempted to know good and evil. As soon as he made that attempt to have the powers of judgment, he was doomed to die.

Isn't it remarkable how thoroughly that lesson has been ignored by the fundamentalists? God puts a naked, unmarried man and woman together, and the only thing he tells them not to do is to try to learn what is good and what is evil. To hear the fundamentalists tell it, it's exactly the other way around - that judging good and evil is what we should do, and that being around naked people of the other sex is what we shouldn't do.

I'd have liked to have thought that they could have at least read the first two short chapters of the Bible, but apparently that's beyond them.

Wrong!

Christians have a duty to judge rightfully. Even the angels will be judge by righteous people that will be saved.

John 7:24 Do not judge according to sight, but judge righteous judgment.

1Co 6:3 Do you not know that we shall judge angels, not to mention the things of this life?

Hi. I just wanted to say that you can download E-Sword for free and it's great when you need to know where a scripture is. You can find it easily on a google search. E-Sword has several different versions of the Bible, concordances, dictionaries, commentaries, etc.

Or how can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me remove the speck that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not see the plank that is in your own eye? Hypocrite! First remove the plank from your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck that is in your brother's eye.
