I would say yes! My son played on a hockey team and they wanted to have a parents vs kids game. Well, me and another lady (plus her husband) all played with a bunch of other fathers against the kids and we lost. So, because the coach was ticked off because the kids beat them, they kicked us ladies off and had a rematch. Even though I was a way better player than the ladies husband. I know its not a company, but, I still think that was very sexist too! It ticked me right off. If I worked for a company and they had some sport events (like hockey or ball, that I love...because I'm competitive) I would have complained, cuz that is truly not fair at all! There are alot of good competitive women out there too. In fact I know guys that are totally not into sports, so, why should they get invited and not a woman who is??

There is nothing sexist about not asking you, however if you ask them to attend and they say no, then you could possibly claim a violation of Title 6 of the Civil Rights Act of 1965. Then again, they would be spending money on you...it is not like a raise or promotion, so the conditions would be very different.

If you are an intern as well and you are not receiving the same invitation that your male counterparts are; it's sexual discrimination.
If you can prove it, report it to a higher authority.

Definitely! But why wait for an invite? If you want to go then just go.
