Other seemingly reasonable people are convinced of things that you should have difficulty believing in. ESP, ghosts, UFO's, supply-side economics; there's a long list of faith-based theories. And it's hard to suggest that other religions are less faithful than Christianity. Egyptians once created expensive pyramids for their own personal burial, while many young Muslims today trade their lives for the next one. And that's not to mention the cultists. It'd be hard to suggest that most Christians are as zealous about their beliefs as the Branch Davidians, or your typical Scientologist. The average Christian looks like a regular Doubting Thomas in comparison.

So what makes you so special? Why are we to believe you, when all these other believers sound so much more convincing? How are you so sure that you're not making the same mistake they did? And isn't your answer exactly what the others would say too? Honest answers accepted; and remember, punctuation is always important

I think that some women are sexy and kind of turn me on. But i never crush on them and couldn't imagine being in a "relationship" with a woman. I would rather date and be with a guy, and am attracted to them more. But since I am attracted to women, am I gay?

Im turning my back on all religious organizations, laws and rules and asking Jesus to turn me to Him only. With all religion behind me Im waiting for Him to come to me and let me see His face. I feel the power of their influence like the suns heat on my spirit back...but none the less...its all behind me...Any advice from any ancients or elders or mystics ?

If you don't have the same beliefs as other person doesn't it bother you that they tell you that your in the wrong for believeing your beliefs? I think it's wrong to try and push your religion on other. Respect what others believe even if you don't agree. Am I right?

To know God you must be able to look at yourself and deny nothing about your true nature. When you accept yourself the question "was I acting with true love?" as the criteria for all your actions you will probably find that you have to ask for forgiveness that is unless you have never done wrong in your life. Once you truly realise your mistakes (your sin) your heart will open and you can let good (God) come to you. For God is not interested in sharing his spirit with those who do bad things.

Do you do bad things?

I respect everyones religion or lack there of but with so much documented history I dont understand how anyone can be Catholic unless you were raised one and its a family tradition. I get how it seems solid by the interpretation of the verse when Christ says to Peter 'On this rock I shall build my church" and how the claim is made that Peter was the first pope(non biblical by the way), But two things just seem very obvious and would bother me.

1) If the Pope is Gods voice on Earth, then how can so many CAtholic teachings and practice be in contradiction to biblical ones. Unless God is schizophrenic.

2) If the Pope is Gods voice on Earth, how could so many wrongs like charging people to forgive their sins, killing and turturing heretics, The Inqusition, aiding Nazi's, the worship of the wealthy patrons(AKA saints) and Mary, be giving the blessing and approval of God.

This alone would make me have doubts in my faith.

I work with a bunch of women with all types of personalities, the biggest problem I have are the ones that don't offer to help yet are always pointing fingers. This really makes others look bad in our work (customer service) what do you suggest?

Mine is
PSALM 142

I cried unto the LORD with my voice;
I poured out my complaint before him;
I shewed before him my trouble.
When my spirit was over whelemed
within me, then thou knewest my path. In
the way wherein I walked have thy privily
laid a snare for me.
I looked on my right hand, and beheld, but
there was no manthat would know me: refuge
failed me;no man cared fo my soul.
I cried unto thee, O LORD: I said,Thy art my
refuge and my portion in the land of the living.
Attend unto my cry; for I am brought very low:
deliver me from my persecuters;for they are
stronger than I.
Bring my soul out of prison, that I may praise
thy name: the righteous shall compass me
about; for thou shalt deal bountifullywith me.

I was watching the news some time ago and saw black people alongside the minutemen joining forces to stop immigration. Why is that????? Weren't they opressed more than hispanics to be acting like they're on top of the society ladder?? That makes me mad,the ones that are joining the minutemen movement. Any reasonable answers?

For those who are atheist, although there is no rock solid proof of a god, what would you have to lose by believing in one? Would it hurt you spiritually to believe in one, or is there some reason that you just dont. And for the record I have nothing against atheists, in fact many of my friends are atheist...

Martin Luther King, George Washington and Ben Franklin, Ceasar Chavez, etc.
Do you think its not just a quincidence they just happened to be great leaders, or was it written in their genes and fate from the time they were born till the end.

see my previous ? regarding abortion.regardless of your political, religious, moral or ethical background is preventing conception just as "bad" as abortion? (please note the quotations i am not placing blame or otherwise, i want as many view points as possible)....many believe (and just not Christians') that sex is for the sole purpose of multiplying. Sexual Pleasure is a subnote. what do you think? is preventing the conception of a child like playing God? on the other hand if contrceptives were non existant what would our population be...10 maybe 20 Billion....answer honestly. this is a serious question.

1. I’d Rather You Didn’t Act Like A Sanctimonious, Holier-Than-Thou *** When Describing My Noodly Goodness. If Some People Don’t Believe In Me, That’s Okay. Really, I’m Not That Vain. Besides, This Isn’t About Them So Don’t Change The Subject.

2. I’d Really Rather You Didn’t Use My Existence As A Means To Oppress, Subjugate, Punish, Eviscerate, And/On, You Know, Be Mean To Others. I Don’t Require Sacrifices And Purity Is For Drinking Water, Not People.

3. I’d Really Rather You Didn’t Judge People For The Way They Look, Or How They Dress, Or The Way They Talk, Or, Well, Just Play Nice, Okay? Oh, And Get This In Your Thick Heads: Woman = Person. Man = Person. Samey-Samey. One Is Not Better Than The Other, Unless We’re Talking About Fashion And I’m Sorry, But I gave That To Women And Some Guys Who Know The Difference Between Teal And Fuchsia.

4. I’d Really Rather You Didn’t Indulge In Conduct That Offends Yourself, Or Your Willing, Consenting Partner Of Legal Age AND Mental Maturity. As For Anyone Who Might Object, I Think The Expression Is Go F*** Yourself, Unless They Find That Offensive In Which Case They Can Turn Off The TV For Once And Go For A Walk For A Change.

5. I’d Really Rather You Didn’t Challenge The Bigoted, Misogynist, Hateful Ideas Of Others On An Empty Stomach. Eat, Then Go After The B******.

6. I’d Really Rather You Didn’t Build Multimillion-Dollar Churches/Temples/Mosques/Shrines To My Noodly Goodness When The Money Could Be Better Spent (Take Your Pick):

Ending Poverty

Curing Diseases

Living In Peace, Loving With Passion, And Lowering The Cost Of Cable

I Might Be A Complex-Carbohydrate Omniscient Being, But I Enjoy The Simple Things In Life. I Ought To Know. I AM The Creator.

7. I’d Really Rather You Didn’t Go Around Telling People I talk To You. You’re Not That Interesting. Get Over Yourself. And I Told You To Love Your Fellow Man, Can’t You Take A Hint?

8. I’d Really Rather You Didn’t Do Unto Others As You Would Have Them Do Unto You If You Are Into, Um, Stuff That Uses A Lot Of Leather/Lubricant/Las Vegas. If The Other Person, IS Into It, However (Pursuant To #4), Then Have At It, Take Pictures, And For The Love Of Mike, Wear A CONDOM! Honestly, It’s A piece Of Rubber. If I Didn’t Want It To Feel Good When You Did IT I Would Have Added Spikes, Or Something.
