I work with a bunch of women with all types of personalities, the biggest problem I have are the ones that don't offer to help yet are always pointing fingers. This really makes others look bad in our work (customer service) what do you suggest?

If you need help ask the woman who is in charge the others are there for the same reason you are to earn a wage.
If you need help approach the boss they appreciate the fact that you are eager and willing to learn.
Wherever one works there is always the frog in the pond the dominant one, don't jump in with her and the other frogs.
The person who is in charge has eyes in the back of their head not much gets past them.
Just try to do your job the best you can ,be pleasant, make those customers feel that they have gained something in just being served by you.
Enjoy your job.

The first seven words are the whole thing here.

Women in a big group.

I have done this for 33 years now-- worked in an environment with mostly women. I'm a woman... but I get sick of them.

The main thing is... try to seem involved. Listen politely. Give ideas and sympathy. Don't share your own problems. Do your own work. Don't expect any favors. Help when you can, but don't get yourself in trouble to do so.

When you are going home for the day, put it OUT OF YOUR MIND!!! That's the only way you will stay sane. Trust me.

There will be a few nice people who will remain your friends for a number of years. But you won't trust them with your lives or your husband. Keep your personal life somewhat separate from your work life. That's the way it works best.

This is a very tiresome situation. You can't change their behavior so you are going to have to live with that. Do the best job you can and don't start doing what they are doing (pointing fingers, blaming others, etc.) I would make a point of bringing this to your manager's attention in case that person doesn't know this is going on; the manager might be able to instigate some rules to put the brakes on it.

My suggestion:

If you don't want to have to deal with them face to face, go over their heads

Ask to have a private meeting with one of your supervisors or bosses, and make sure they are aware of it. They can talk to them about working more as a team.

Or you can just talk to them yourself. They might respect you more for it, or they might think you are a jerk.

Next time they say "oh you did that wrong" then say (politely) "oh, well since you know how it's supposed to be done can you help me with it?"

First of all, don't get involved in gossip. People that look down on others are doing so because it makes themselves look better. They have no self esteem or confidence so they put other people down.

People know their faults but if they point out the shortcomings in others the focus is taken off of them.

It's human nature. No one thinks that they do anything wrong, given their narrow perspective of themselves. It's MUCH easier to see the perceived wrong done by others, than to look inward at our own behaviour.

It's human nature, though not at its best. Let it roll off your back.
