There are consequences for everything we do. Live for God and the consequence is no wars. Live away from God and you got wars. "It is not His desire that any should perish but that all will come to repentance," says the Bible

If you read the Bible, God does take sides in war. He even helps start war according to the Bible. You can find many stories in the Old Testament telling us about how God starts war. I am sure He doesn't want to have war but finds it is necessary when people have become so evil and are unteachable.
As for today, yes, I think He takes sides and I think our president is listening to Him. But that's just my opinion.

well, most wars in history have been over religion, and the bible says that there is only one religion, and that all others are false, and misleading. So that shows that God takes sides by religion. Although, the bible says that God loves all the creatures that he made on this earth. and that he would not want them to go to war, because that is killing his creations that he loves so much. so there is no real answer. And there is also the sins involved.

Everyone that said God doesnt like wars, I have a queston for you. Have you ever read the old testament? God specifically instructed many people to go to war and even fought the wars for them. How can you say God doesnt like wars? Did he change his mind on what he felt about them?

There's always a war between good and evil, and of course God will be on the good side.

However, MAN's war's are so mixed up in the good/evil area that many times it becomes impossible to discern.

In one time, Christ said to a guy who wanted him to help with with some inheritance problem that he would not be involved.

That because, as I said, the guy's problem (war) was mixed up with the fact that he was greedy.

So I'd think God 99.9% of the times would choose this line of action.

God does not love war, and God does not choose sides. War is what man has created and what man has to solve.

Yes but its not always clear which side. If God is displeased with a certain nation, he might allow them to lose a war badly to humble them

God does not like people with pride and ego. Or in other words He does not like war. Why are wars and battles fought? Because of pride and ego! It is said in many religions that the one who invented wars is anti-God or someone we call "Satan" or the Devil or Rakshas.
