Why would you want to read that ? I once tried to read it and I just couldn't continue after the first page. I also didn't want my mind to become infested with a bunch on senseless lies.

I have to say I'm generally satisfied, but I do not appreciate it as much as I should - I always seem to be wanting something. I wanted to see if most people are like me.

I was born in Argentina, lived most of my life in Europe, now I live in Canada, but I've never met people so religious and intolerant of other people's views as those coming from the Middle East or the USA.

What is wrong with them?

The rest of humanity seems to be ok with having religion as a set of principles to live by, not as the reason itself for their own existence, trying to hammer it into other people's heads by friendliness or by force.

What went wrong with these two cultures?

I've paid for the invites and the postage and put them in the mail. While I really need a final count for the party I am throwing (so that I can make sure I have enough food and drinks) I'm really irritated that I am probably going to have to track people down on my time and dime to get their answer. What ever happened to the common curtousey of a response? How do you deal with these people (most of which are family)?

Just as an example, the heaven's gate group, a group of religious people, used drugs and committed a mass suicide. There is also the jim jones example.
There were people who believed David Koresh was a God and some at the Branch Davidian camp willingly died for their belief.

I understand many of you believe in the Bible. This is a book that yes I am reading, but some of it appears to be allegory and parable. There are even disagreements about what is real and what is parable/allegory within Christianity.

Do theists understand why an atheist would be skeptical? This is not to excuse mischievous behavior or rude behavior, but many of us have genuine interest but are skeptical. Does not our skepticism make sense?

Many of us do not want to pick the wrong God, or use the wrong chemical, or read the wrong book. Many who are religious belief they have the right God, chemical (eucharist), and right book. But do you understand our skepticism?

I know that I am not brainwashed, my mind was too dirty for the christian church to wash it. They tried, but no one was able to. If you have been brainwashed, please tell me to repent, or get saved or something else to prove to yourself that what I say is true. Then, read this again after you respond and ask youself," could it be that maybe, I am brainwashed by all of these preachers I've been sitting in front of for years. Just think about it, please. Maybe you will break free from the hold that organized religion has on you. peace

I personally listen to classic rock , but if you were to follow this stereotype into other genres would we conclude that ALL that listen to heavy metal are satan worshipers? Or ALL that listen to hip-hop/rap are thugs and gangbangers? Or ALL that listen to musicals are homosexuals? See my point , ive always disliked that stereotype and think it is one of the worse ones out there , you cant let a small group of people give you a bad perspective on a whole demographic. Your thoughts

This weekend I asked if people could pray for me and my health (I am in Congestive heart Failure). This site removed my request for healing prayer and took away my points before others could see my request. I wrote into the customer service telling them how we need to be be able to ask for prayer requests, and if others support me then prayer requests should not be removed. Can you please write in and support prayer requests with me? They need to know how important this is. Thank you all so much!!! God bless all of you!
