I know that I am not brainwashed, my mind was too dirty for the christian church to wash it. They tried, but no one was able to. If you have been brainwashed, please tell me to repent, or get saved or something else to prove to yourself that what I say is true. Then, read this again after you respond and ask youself," could it be that maybe, I am brainwashed by all of these preachers I've been sitting in front of for years. Just think about it, please. Maybe you will break free from the hold that organized religion has on you. peace

It's not impossible, but it is difficult. The religious memes have built defense mechanisms against pretty much every type of attack.

Here are some Biblical examples of these defense mechanisms:

"The fool says in his heart, 'there is no god'"

- the message being that anyone who doesn't accept the meme is a fool and thus everything they say can be discarded

"The wisdom of this world is foolishness with God"

- again with the "they're all fools" theme

"don't cast pearls before swine"

- not only are they fools, but they're pigs too!

"...saved by grace through faith..."

- The message being that belief itself is all that really matters. Faith is the weakness that allows these memes to spread, and so the meme glorifies faith as the highest virtue

"if you had the faith of a mustard seed..."

- emphasizing faith again

"blasphemy of the holy spirit is the one unforgivable sin"

- severe doubt can never be forgiven. Just believe!

miracles, etc.

- see! it's real! ...but nevermind that, just have faith, but look it's real!, faith evidence faith evidence :brain explodes: yes master I hear and obey

referring to believers as sheep, servants, slaves, etc.

- appeals to the follower instinct

It's not impossible, but it's tough. If someone is so set in their beliefs and ways, it is difficult. I am a Christian and no, I am not brainwashed. I made the choice to believe in Christ. Maybe you need to rethink all your previous experiences with organized religions. I don't doubt that they were bad, but maybe, just maybe, you found some kernel of truth that you are hanging on to?

What you see as brainwashing is our refusal to conform with the world. I have chosen to follow Christ and reject the injustice and immorality of the world. If that is brainwashing, then I have been brainwashed. Meanwhile, in my "brainwashing," my sins have been washed away by the blood of Christ, willingly offered up on Calvary as a sacrifice for sin once for all. He died for your sins too, but you choose not to accept His grace. And since I have been "brainwashed" and accepted His grace, not only have I been forgiven, but He has blessed me and continues to bless me as I follow wherever He has me go. But not to worry. His Word is foolishness to you right now, but perhaps someday you will be humbled and realize your need for a savior; a savior who has already died for your sins and can wash away even the dirtiest sins.

This looks like a job for NEO from the matrix. lol. Listen, no matter what side you're on people will say that you're brainwashed. How's it going with your relationship with God apart from any churches? What is it that YOU believe, or do you have no beliefs at all? Don't worry about what people say... the question is what would God say? Seriously?

Who are you to say that Christians are the ones that are brain washed and it isn't the atheist who believe the science crap? You could reverse this question very easily. You got your thought process from somewhere- maybe you ARE the one that is brainwashed.

No they cannot understand anything other than what they have been told to understand. That's the whole point of brainwashing.
