30s... Hmmm

It's different because, depending on how your life has gone - it may be the first entire decade of your life that is ALL you. No doing laundry at Ma's, no dealing with roommates binging on pizza in your living room.

You start listening to how school district spend their money and you are finding - you actually have an opinion. 20yr olds start to seem like teenagers in their maturity and you are wondering if your muscles are just sore - or actually getting old already.

Personally - I just turned 32 and have my 1st child on the way. So yes, the 30s will be better than my 20s.

But mostly, that will be because they are NOW. Never found much joy trying to hang on to the past. Appreciate the times of your youth and remember them so you can relate in some small way with your children. ;) But do not write off any part of your life because someone else had a bad experience.

As MArcus Aurelious would say - the only life you have is the moment you are living in NOW - make it count!

In another way, your 30's will be the greatest times of your life because you (and everyone else) has probably learned (to some extent) WHO you really are becoming...

Live it up!
:)

I felt a little down when I turned 30 so I went out and bought a new stereo. This was not like me but it helped a lot. For some weird reason, 31 was much harder.

But now I'm 42. Life is a lot different than it was in my 20's and 30's but that's mostly because I'm married and have kids now. Overall, the 30's weren't much different than the 20's except that I was out of grad school and making a lot more money.

That was the birthday that I dreaded the most. But after passing it 7 years ago, I would say that they're pretty good years. Maybe even better than the 20's.

Your thirties aren't much different than your twenties, except that hopefully you're a little wiser.

Be careful about your weight. What you weigh at thirty will be your base weight basically forever. Now is time to loose if you have to. Other than that welcome to club. Not much different. Metabolism slows exponentially every ten years.
