I wont speak for the middle east however, I will speak for the USA, I'm an American and I have to say you are way off the mark. This is a free country and we have many religions. You are free to believe or not believe anything you want in this country. The USA is a giant melting pot of all cultures so when you criticize us you criticize many different cultures. You really should think before you speak. This is what I believe.

I cannot say anything about the USA but it's not middle east the Muslims in general are so fanatically religious but their set of religion in some cases are very baseless.

It’s like the age old question of how many licks it takes to get to the center of a tootsie pop.
Religious fanaticism is dangerous and it doesn’t matter what religion you’re speaking of. Christian fanatics are just as dangerous as Muslim fanatics.
I honestly believe that the world would be a much happier and peaceful place to live if people just gave up their insane outdated dogmatic points of view.

Religion was the reason the USA was founded people came here to get away from being attacked for their religious beliefs. I mean they killed Christ for nothing they were trying to make strong holds so they could practice their faith unmolested.

I don't think that the majority of people in either area are fanatically religious to the point of using force.
You only see the radical elements in TV.

The people in the Middle East have to evoke the power of Islam and to take inspiration from it to fight against the superior military power of Israil and the USA. They had to take recourse to religion because Arab nationalism failed them in their fight against Israil. they see the western influence eroding their culture and religion , hence they aim to preserve their religion and taking inspiration from it fight their enemies. their manner they view past enforces their belief in power of Islam to solidify and strengthen them.
so far as people of the USA are concerned , their religious fundamentalism originates from their being devout Protestantism as opposed to Europeans who have mostly forsaken religion and now think it as living a superstition of the past

Pure and simple lack of education and loads of brainwashing. I live in the USA and I am rather disgusted with it.
