I mean, if the truth is dependant on one's own interpretation of the Bible, why all the quarelling over little things like baptism, and whether gays should be let in the church, and whether the Bible supports conservative or liberal interpretation, or 7 day creationism or theistic evolution, and so on . . .

I mean, if no person really has the authority to determine the truth of the bible?

Ok, this is really for Protestants only. Thanks to mother_to_seven for the distinction :) I explored the Catholic church for a while for this very reason.

If we are to assume that Jesus was a normal man/god…
Then we would have to assume at one point he would lust after a girl, use his healing hands on himself when no one was looking (to heal himself of course!) maybe play a few pranks turn wine into vinegar… the sort of thing normal kids do and think about all the time (coupled with godlike powers) so given that he grows up working as a carpenter and then is called up for Dad’s duty, do you think it is possible that he had/did thoughts and actions that are inherent to children of that time?

I wanna know if there are any other body language signs that a gay guy might unknowingly display. Im aware of the fact that when a gay guy senses that you might like him he will wiggle his middle finger against your hand palm when you greet to let you know that he wants more or that he will give you a naughty grin, wink and rub his crotch.

If a guy is gay, will he wear an earing or a stud in his right or left ear ? Are there any more definate body language signs like the palm rubbing with wich a gay guy could let you know that he likes you. Please people I need some answers.

Wait a minute, I can't take the Bible literally? So, how do we know God really literally destroyed Sodom? How do we know that the Bible is to be taken literally when it says homosexuality is an abomination?

Christians are saying I can't take the Bible literally, and this must mean I am supposed to exercise some independence of thought. At what standard am I to use in taking some things literally and somethings as allegory?

It seems I am supposed to think for myself, and not take the Bible literally, how do I know what is literal and what is not?

My toddler daughter had a birthday recently and got lots of gifts from various relatives. Some people sent more than one gift. I had to postpone writing the notes because I was busy with other stuff I needed to do. I'm ready to write them now, but I can't recall exactly who sent what, but I still need to write the notes. How can I do this without letting them know I forgot?

You say that everyone has free will.
You also say that god created everything and knows everything.

If god know exactly what is going to happen to everyone, everywhere at all times, then how can you have free will?

In order to have free will, god would have to be wrong sometimes. Anything else wouldn't be free will, it would be an illusion.

If you say in my mind, where is my mind? And clearly, it's not just in my mind: it's an objective truth (true for everyone, and would be true even if there were no one), yet non-sensuous. Doesn't this prove that materialism is false?
