Apart from -coughing- or making strange breath-gymnastics hoping they'll get the message is there anything that would save me some time?

What words would _you_ use?

Just pull them aside so no one can hear and say something like...Hey name I thought you might want to know there is a strange smell coming from your clothing. I thought I'd tell you so someone else doesnt smell it and you get embarassed.

If you are close to them, feel free to talk nicely about the problem. Maybe they have a health condition that causes the foul smell. Say something like - ( Insert the person's name).. I consider you a friend but I think I need to tell you something especially since I'm your friend...... If you are not close to them, send an email that makes reference to that to a few people and copy them in. If they have any brains at all they will check themselves or ask a question to find out if the have that problem. Hope this helps!

Who smells bad?...If it's a true friend or family member, suggest that they need a shower in a fun way. Wow Man Did you run out of soap? lol Haven't you paid the water bill?

One time years ago we had a fellow worker who tried covering BO with more cheap cologne. Some of us went together and bought a basket filled with personal hygiene products, ominously we didn't embarrase him, just set it at his work station and said nothing more about it. It Worked.
If you really care, tell them. If you are just annoyed, then stay away!!!!!!!!!!!!!
If it's your kid, tell her/him to get in the tub.
But don't hurt their feelings, B.O. Is No Laughing Matter

We SHOULD have done this at work.
Prepare a box containing several bars of soap, deodorants, toothbrush, toothpaste, mouthwash, facial tissues, "Odor-Eaters" and even "Gas-X" if necessary.
Have a friend totally unconnected to the situation write the offending party's name on the box to be left on a desk/in a locker or whatever.
Deliver it to the office at a time no one is working.
Then have everyone get to work early Monday morning (if that's your schedule) and watch the fun!

Whenever I want to tell someone something indirectly, I say it about myself. Something like, "boy, I really worked up a sweat (going to the gym, walking around the building, being outside in the sun), I could really use some body spray.". If you were doing the same thing, you can even say "want some?"

Just tell them in a non confronting manner and in Private that they smell bad and it would do a great deal for them if they looked into a deodorant.
Say " Excuse me but You really need a deodorant. You smell bad and darn it people like you , but avoid you because of the BO. I am sorry to be the one telling you , but there it is."

It depends how familiar I am to that person, if it's somebody just passing by I would let it go and breath....if it's somebody I know and appreciate, I would say: I'm your friend and as a friend I need to tell you something for your own good: you smell bad...or how about if I call you Pepee le pew??

There is NO best way to tell about this- its either you buy him/her a fragrance, body spray, a book about self appearance

OR simply straight tell him/her in a private situation that his/her body smells and that you as a friend really cared about him/her and apologizes that you meant no offence.

one thing for sure to cure this - watch your food intake, avoid onions or garlics, spicy food or perhaps check on the blood as sometimes people have bad odour is b/c they have illness inside they didn't know..

word best use-

MY GOWD you smells sh*t!! ( and laughing histerically ! )

sorry..dont get mad..i'm just joking...

I suggest that you find a way to discreetly leave them a note in an envelope. On their desk, locker, mailbox, or even mail it to them without a return address. State that as a fellow human being, you want to help them out, and tell them, kindly, that they have body odour. You wanted to be discreet as to not embarrass them.

I assume it is not someone you are close to, or you would tell them yourself.

If it is a friend, I'd just approach them privately and tell them that you don't want to offend them, but that they have an odor problem. If it is someone at work, I wouldn't say anything, but bring it up with human resources.
