I'd say about 10 minutes before you need a burger.

Till dehydration kills you. Much sooner than starvation. The live in that statement refers to spiritual life. In the bible hell is sometimes referred to as the grave. People who take the bible literally word for word almost always miss the point of it's teachings. There are parts of the bible that contradict one another yet the over all message is clear. 'Be good to each other.' Why do people get tied up in the semantics to the point they miss the true intent?

Actually, Jesus didn't say that you could survive on His Word alone. This was how He responded to Satan's enticement to turn the stones into bread after Jesus had been fasting for 40 days:
But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.’” Luke 4:4
This is the passage He is referring to (Jesus used OT scripture to fight the temptations):
So He humbled you, allowed you to hunger, and fed you with manna which you did not know nor did your fathers know, that He might make you know that man shall not live by bread alone; but man lives by every word that proceeds from the mouth of the LORD. Deuteronomy 8:3
If He provided them with manna in order to make them know that they could not live by bread alone, but by His Word, it clearly isn't an either/or situation.
Living by His Word does not mean physical starvation, but spiritual nourishment.
Then He said to His disciples, “Therefore I say to you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat; nor about the body, what you will put on. Life is more than food, and the body is more than clothing. Consider the ravens, for they neither sow nor reap, which have neither storehouse nor barn; and God feeds them. Of how much more value are you than the birds? Luke 12:22-24
The key is not to be more concerned with the physical state (especially things you have no control over - which is what worry technically is) than you are with the spiritual state.

Give it a shot. That sounds like it would take great faith to accomplish, but maybe it would turn out worth it for you. Be the first to find out!
*Side note. If you've taken this to a literal extreme, make sure your bible is printed with non-toxic ink, and chew carefully so you don't get paper cuts in your esophogus!

He also said he was a door. Do you think he meant that he was made out of two by fours? When he said he was a vine, was he demonstrating that he was a delusional schizophrenic?
The real tough ones are when he says things like "pluck out your own eye." It takes a lot of scholarly acquaintance with the texts and with his social milieu to understand that this (like a lot of other sayings) is hyperbole.
