Why do you believe that your god, whatever it is you believe in would allow children, babies, to be raped, killed, born with diseases that causes great pain, touched by priests, hit by cars. etc.lets not say free will or mysterious ways. open you mind and come up with possible reasons why it would seem like a good idea to your god.

My parents are very unaccepting of my sexuality. They have known about my lesbianism for about five years. They have met my girfriend numerous times, and continue to be ignorant towards her. They also act so different towards me. What can I do to help them? I come from a VERY small town, where there are "no such thing" as gay people. Can anyone help me?

Has anyone else gone through this?

Okay everyone. Why are so many of us answering questions with hostility and insults? What the crap is that? I find it painful every time I see a member of the body of Christ insulting non-Christians every time they ask a question about our faith, even if they are insulting us. Seriously, do you think you;re doing any good? All you are doing is convincing any non-Christian that thinks we're all a bunch of judgemental jerks that they are right. How does this represent the image of Christ, huh?

Is sexism a by-product of christianity and the bible? Do you believe
The BIBLE when it says:
(1 Corinthians 14:33-38).
"As in all the churches of the saints, the women should keep silence in the churches. For they are not permitted to speak, but should be subordinate, as even the law says. If there is anything they desire to know, let them ask their husbands at home. For it is shameful for a woman to speak in church. What! Did the word of God originate with you, or are you the only ones it has reached? If any one thinks that he is a prophet, or spiritual, he should acknowledge that what I am writing to you is a command of the Lord. If any one does not recognize this, he is not recognized" (1 Corinthians 14:33-38).

The Rider on the White Horse
11I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True. With justice he judges and makes war. 12His eyes are like blazing fire, and on his head are many crowns. He has a name written on him that no one knows but he himself. 13He is dressed in a robe dipped in blood, and his name is the Word of God. 14The armies of heaven were following him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen, white and clean. 15Out of his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations. "He will rule them with an iron scepter."[a] He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God Almighty. 16On his robe and on his thigh he has this name written:
KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS. If Revelation 12 is not talking about Jesus?

I see so many people on here say the flood was localised, to these people I ask -
why didn't the people and animals simply walk to the bits that didn't flood as the water fot higher?
As water finds its' own level the bit that flooded would have had to been a basin shape no to have spread outward. In effect a lake.
Noah was on the ark for over a year - that would be some sized lake.
If there was areas no flooded how come the birds came back to the ark for over 7 days and with no foliage or why did they wait until the 7th day until they took the leaves?
Plus it would seem a bit of an effort to get animals from areas that did not flood into the ark and there would be little need to.
In short a localised flood would not have done what it was supposed to have done - kill everyone and thing not on the ark. So why hang on to this belief? It is a load of tat!

I want to a lot of good things like be successful in career, be physically fit, master some sports, do some community service etc. etc. However, I find my efforts very inconsistent. I get motivated and start working on things, but in a few days, it fizzles out and am back to being a couch-potato. I am 34 and I work.
