I hear the Devil is a great believer in keeping families together so don't worry about it; you'll both be in Hell.

This is the first time I have ever seen this question asked. Wow is all I can say. But here is my answer. Jesus traded places with us because of the time then, as someone said earlier he was sinless, he was also pure. We, however, are not. We commit sin in everyday life. Even if you know it or not, you may be committing it right now. But the answer to your question is no. It is said that after you die you will leave your body, and will forget all you knew here on this earth. Which means you will forget family, friends, beliefs, loves, and everything else. The only thing you will know is either glory of the Lord, or the eternal damnation you are facing. So basically when you die, you will not even know your mother, nor will she know you. I am sorry if this offends anyone, I really am. I hope that you and everyone else has a great day. God Bless.

Jeses didn't trade places with us. Through his perfect life he was able to take the punishment for our sins upon him if we would allow it. He did not take our choice away from us. Going to heaven is not a yes or no thing. You choose where you are going. That choice is reflected in your life by the things you do. The way you treat the people around you and the efforts you make at doing what you believe is correct. Since this world is not perfect and neither are any of us, we will all make mistakes that can be taken care of through Jesus Christ if we allow it. Or we can make choices that will keep Him out of our lives. You can, however help your mother to come closer to God by helping her be the best person she can. It doesn't end after this life. You will still see her after.

Christianity is a religion that is purely individualistic and that is one major thing that sets it aside from the Jewish faith from which it derives some of its being.
Thus, you and your mother are, each, separately accountable for your sins and punished or rewarded individually.
And Christ the Son did NOT take our place at all---physically or otherwise--but DID take our sins upon himself in his perfect, one-time sacrifice to God the Father. But we derive the benefit thereof ONLY by accepting Jesus as our Savior and believing in Him and the merit of His sacrifice.
And I assure you that there is, indeed, a Hell. It is the place with the complete absence of God and is clearly described in the New Testament and indirectly in the Old Testament. Ultimately, earthy church creedos notwithstanding (Baptists-I know, United Methodist-I don't know, Presbyterians-I can't do anything about whatever it is because it is predestined.), only God knows what our individual outcomes will be. (God is very meaningfully described as the face at the window--begging to be let inside but totally dependant on us for permission {Free Will, you see--for we are not robots, since otherwise Christ's sacrifice would have been in vain.})
I believe it was a medieval debating point for scholars and student to use in trying out logic in the lecture hall that the best way to believe most fully in Heaven and God is to initially believe in Hell and Satan.

THAT IS A VERY VERY WONDERFUL IDEA, BUT LETS LOOK AT THE TRUTH FIRST.
HELL COMES FROM THE HEBREW WORD ((SHEOL )) IN THE OT AND THE GREEK WORD ((HADES )) IN THE NT BOTH SIMPLY MEAN THE (( GRAVE ))
AND THERE IS AN END TO HELL. AND THE LAKE OF FIRE IS NOT HELL BUT WHAT IS CALLED THE SECOND DEATH IN WHICH YOU THOSE WHO DON'T ACCEPT GOD WILL BE BURNED TO ASHES INTO NONEXISTENCE.
Re 20:14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years.
Re 20:5 But the rest of the dead lived not again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.
Re 20:6 Blessed and holy is he that hath part in the first resurrection: on such the second death hath no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with him a thousand years.
HERE IS WHAT HAPPENED TO CHRIST. HE WAS NOT LEFT IN HELL BECAUSE HE WAS RESURRECTED AND HE DID NOT SEE CORRUPTION OR WHAT WE CALL DECAY BECAUSE HE WAS IN HELL OR (( THE GRAVE )) FOR ONLY 3 DAYS AND 3 NIGHTS.
Ac 2:27 Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption.
Ac 2:31 He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his FLESH did see corruption.

Actually from what I hear nobody knows who's going to Hell except God. Possibly many self righteous people will be given the thumbs down. It would be funny to see their faces.

I don't think so. What makes you so sure that your mother is going to hell? She could ask for forgiveness at the last possible moment and still be forgiven. I think you shouldn't worry about it so much.

According to the Holy Bible, our Father will make that determination at the right time and in the right place.

no we cant do it.Remember lazarus and the rich man.Rich man asked "send lazarus to earth to tell my brothers how this is"
No one can trade places for anyone. But u can still prevent your mom from hell by sharing the good news with her and asking her to pray to GOD to forgive her.

However, Jesus was perfect and so he is the only one that can do that. unless you are perfect and I guess you could other wise you are judge for what you do and not what others have done for you....Makes Sense.....including your mother
