Amazing, isn't it?
People are growing more and more hateful, especially toward Christ and His disciples.
Just the way He told us it would be.

A lot of horrible things are done in the name of Jesus... consider all of the Christians today who use their faith as an excuse to hate Muslims and members of other religions. Some people are to stupid to separate the actions of idiots from the core of the religion itslef. As for cannibalism... don't be close minded. When you step back and look at it, it is kinda wierd. The eating our lord thing.
And u know what? I'm a UU, and I try to embrace all faiths as different paths to truth... but some of the most hateful people I have ever met were Christians who told me i was going to hell, and treated me as though i was an inferior species! You tell me how followers of Jesus, who preached the gold rule, could be so awful! I think people make fun of Christians, not Jesus himself.
If you want people to respect your religion, then make sure you respect other peoples! Thats the only way people can coexist.

These are the end times. Look around you. Everywhere you look chaos is evident. Israel is in war, all of the middle east hates Israel, yet they keep keeping on. Why? They're protected. People hate that. Christians come under that protective umbrella too and people truly hate that. God chose the Jewish nation as His people. Christians are grafted in or adopted, so people hate that. What they want is to have their way and get away with it. Doesn't work like that. In the end times, we will see an escalation of hatred for Christians as evidenced by the daily media's bias. They hate us and can't wait for us to go--wherever. Ultimately, we'll be lifted out of here in the rapture at some point and they can have their way until God says otherwise. Until then, keep keeping on in faith. Cannibals? Ludicrous!

A lot of us have had problems with Christians being hateful and pushy with their religion so this is probably where a lot of it comes from. Not to mention how ridiculous some of the stories in the Bible are. Some of us are in awe that so many people believe this stuff. I hope I didn't offend, but that's the way I feel about it.

Most people do it to get a reaction that's all. I'm guilty at times of this. I'm atheist but I don't hate Jesus. I respect what he stands for but times I get pissed off about Christian comments and immaturely feed into them. In essence Jesus preaches love. That's a good thing and it helps a lot of people. Pat Robertson, Benny Hinn, and the fundies ( in any religion f--k it up for the decent understanding Christians.)

I think your question demonstrates the problem: making fun of Christians = hating Jesus.
Too many Christians lack the humility that Jesus taught us to practice. Too much pride in one's self almost always leads others to do their best to take down the overly proud a notch or three.
Rev 21:8 tells us the "unbelievers...shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone." That would include my father, who died an agnostic. I find much wisdom in the words of Jesus, but I reject a prophesy that condemns the father who loved me to such a fate. Personally, I'd rather burn in Hell with my father than ignore his fate to sing the praises of a God who so condemned him for having doubts.
Such a God does not love nor understand Humanity, and is no God to me. Those who find comfort in such prophesies seem to fail to recognize how understandable it is for the rest of us to reject these prophesies and those who place their faith in such statements.
A true God of Love does not reject us for our doubts, anymore than a parent rejects a child who doubts our good intentions.
The God of Revelations is no different to the God of II Kings 2:23-24, and has little if anything to do with Jesus of Nazareth.
I hope I've given you something worth thinking about.

Don't get confused. People don't hate Jesus, they hate Christians. Many see a huge difference. hate the christian, not the christ. Even Ghandi had a great quote that he liked the Christ but couldn't understand how those who followed him were so different from him.

I think for the most part people joke around but the fact is that many christinas are too serious to see that. I dont think people hate jesus just the fact that so many people feel they need to follow someoone rather than just lead their own life.

The reason is because Satan is the ruler of this world, and will be until Jesus comes back again. Until then, he will deceive many, and therefore cause hate, either for Jesus or anyone else for that matter.

Because Christians are working too hard to make people believe issues of faith.
Christ taught and modelled a good life, with people, at dinner, eating and drinking, working. He was not singing hymns all day long. He was involved with his purpose.
