Especially the King James version. And when it was, in fact, written by mere men? In most cases, it was written hundreds of years after the events described took place.

I suppose faith requires one to just accept things as fact and leaves no room for questions or discovery.

I have to go home to do anything else.... (you know, poo).... and it's kind of amazing because I can hold it for up to seven days if I am in unfamilliar territory (ie: vacation, camping, etc.). Does anyone else have the same experience?

It is as a blind man telling the sighted person that there is no such thing as vision.because what he cannot see does not exist.

IS HE BETTER OR THE ONE WHO USES TOILET PAPERS?

Lets say there is NO God: If you do not believe in God, you're fine. No harm done. If you do believe in God, once again, you're fine. No harm done.

Lets say there IS a God: If you do not believe in God: you're hosed. If you do believe in God. Good to go.

So... if you DO believe in God, then whether He exists or not...you're fine. Believing in a god that doesn't exist won't hurt you. BUT, if you DON'T believe in God and He DOES exist. Sucks to be you. So, one could argue that LOGICALLY, you're safer TO believe in Him. 50/50 chance there if you don't believe, but, hey. You're choice. Take it easy.

It seems many Christians here believe you CAN choose to be gay, so I want to give it a try!

I'm so tired of eating fish.

God bless your good souls!

Defend some pretty fanatical theories? Do you feel challenged when there is a lot of evidence to debase your views and you are really just left with, “cause God said”? Is there a lot of pressure placed on you to spread his word? Is Christian morality a burden? Is it a burden to dislike so many people, places and things?
After perusing through today’s questions I am just curious…

If you have hate in your harts let it out. No, I am not talking about the racist hate. I am talking about the people you see in grocery stores, the gym, the road. I estimate that I hate around 75% of the people I see everyday.

With all the press and recent attacks over the past 3 years by muslims, is their religion starting to show through? There must be increased prejudice against muslims due to these attacks and the way muslims operate? Are US muslims going to get backlash from these types of attacks?

Sweden, land of Abba, Vikings, Meatballs and let’s not forget Ikea - I only had an hour to get to know you, a few minutes in Stockholm airport while passing through on a flight from KL to NYC.

We should mark our encounter with something small and sweet, something we’ve shared since my childhood.

“Where are the Swedish Fish?” I ask the clerk. She points to a fridge filled with a strange variety of foul smelling tinned fish. I chuckle; she must pull this with tourists all day and still thinks it’s funny. “No, I mean the candy”

Her look said it all. I haven’t fallen for a ruse like this since I was six. First Santa Claus, then the tooth ferry and now Swedish Fish; I’m thirty-something and still dispelling childhood myths.

These candy fingerlings were, invented by a Swedish company in the 50’s for export to the US. Today they are made in Canada by Cadbury. Swedes would need to import them.

American, like Chop Suey, in my book. What's your take - are they truly Swedish Fish?

There are many atheist on here and thats great(though atheist in a spirituality and religion forum is like a vegetarian in a steak and chicken forum).

Several things Ive notices with atheist on here

1) Very arrogant.

2)Very sarcastic

3) Very bitter

4) Very antiChristian ..

5)Very ignorant (Ahh surprised to here that one thrown back your way since you claim that about everyone else)- if you are going to against something, at lease have a solid idea what it really is about. Its like all atheist looked at 10 minutes of a Jerry Falwell sermon and decided they are experts enough to conclude how stupid Christianity is.

Ive heard the argument from atheist that religious people make the world so bad, but if these grumpy, sarcastic, bitter people are their representatives, how much better could it be?
