Like how do Chinese people feel about Japanese and how do Thais feel about Koreans and stuff. Are there stereotypes and prejudices there. I would like to know because you never here about that. Just black and white.

First, you can't generalize about any nationality; people have different feelings about other countries no matter where you are.

Having said that, Japanese are disliked by a lot of their neighbors (like Korea and Vietnam) because Japan conquered and oppressed a lot of its neighbors in the 1930s and 1940s. As a third-generation Japanese-American, I can also testify that a lot of the older generations of Japanese retain a sense of superiority over some of their neighbors, which doesn't help matters.

Tibetans probably have strong feelings about Chinese too, since China "annexed" Tibet in 1959.

In the U.S., however, most Asians leave those old-world resentments behind and get along fine.

Mr Sato gave a fine answer to this question. Living in Japan, I have noticed such undercurrents. Many, many Koreans that I know dislike the Japanese. This is also true of the Chinese. They can become highly offended if you mistake them for a nationality that they are not. There is a lot of national pride. Koreans and Japanese tend to look down on Filipinos (most bar girls here are Filipina.) The Chinese also tend dislike the Taiwanese and vice versa. The younger generation doesn't appear to be as staunch as their elders.

Mostly, it is not blatant because Asian cultures tend to be more outwardly polite and respectful but when you speak with them one on one you hear what they really think! A Korean friend of mine let loose about Filipinas one day and I got an ear full!! A Japanese friend of mine thinks all Koreans are pushy. Another Korean friend thinks Japanese are haughty. So, yes there are stereotypes and predjudices here in the East. On a side, it was absolutely scandalous here when Ziyi Zhang who is Chinese was chosen to portray Sayuri in "Memoirs of a Geisha." Many Japanese thought this was disgraceful.

I am not sure how all of this applies to Asian Americans living in the states, though.

Interesting question...(I am not asian & can't answer) but in my area I noticed hispanics from some countries seem to think they are better than those from other countries. So it isn't just black & white.
