With all the press and recent attacks over the past 3 years by muslims, is their religion starting to show through? There must be increased prejudice against muslims due to these attacks and the way muslims operate? Are US muslims going to get backlash from these types of attacks?

I love poeple who try and point out how many muslims there are in the US. 2.3 million. Whoppie Shi*t! The US has a population of over 300 million people. That means less than 1% of our population is muslim. Get your facts straight. The only place this religion survives is in poor and third world countries where they are forced into Islam from the day they were born. All of the powerfull countries in this world have a small percentage of muslims which means those who follow islam are stupid mentally and cannot succeed in the world economical environment.

US Muslims should be treated with the same respect they show others in their own countries.

If they want to rally in the streets and call for the immediate beheading of the Danish cartoonists, then they should not be allowed to have any right to say what they want or publish what they want. If they deny a woman the right to drive a car because she's a woman and women are forbidden to travel, then they should be sent to concentration camps where they can be confined and kept under watch. If they want to kill a Western visitor for unknowingly breaking a small law, then they should not be given any breathing room or shown any mercy when they continually violate our laws.

I can see where you are coming from to a certain extent (and if anyone out there is going to call me a racist for saying this, try reading the rest of my answer first). Yes, there will be a lot of prejudice against Muslims because people want to blame something for everything - people used to say violence was caused by rock music, people now say that murderers are inspired by video games, and the same people now assosiate all Muslims with bombs. The problem is that most (if not all) "terrorists" (or whatever you want to call them) that appear on the news and in newspapers are Muslim, but although a lot of terrorists are Muslim, most Muslims are not terrorists - it is just a label Muslims have got (unfortunately) and people therefore blame Islam for everything that Muslims do wrong; but remember, Muslims are human and they can be as intelligent or as stupid as anyone else on this planet, whether they follow Islam or not.
It has, however, been argued that certain parts of the Qu'aran can be interpereted in ways that inspire terrorism, but this is obviously because of the person who reads it and interperets it in stupid ways - as I said before, most Muslims are nice people (I know a few myself, and they are NOT terrorists), and so to call all Muslims "mentally stupid" is NOT an clever thing to do - the only Muslims you can call "mentally stupid" are the ones that strap bombs onto themselves, but it is not Islam that makes them do this, it is because the individual person is "mentally stupid".

On the contrary. Islam is on the rise, especially in countries outside of the U.S. Islam has rapidly moved into Europe, Asia and the old Soviet block countries like wild fire. The people are looking for some direction and leadership. Religion brings both. Especially a stringent religion like Islam.

The U.S. has been made to look weak in the eyes of the world. Even with it's superior fire power it can't usurp terrorism. The Brits found this out in the U.S. Revolution. The Russians learned long ago that fighting Islam was impossible. But the U.S. didn't learn from their mistake.

Are they going down the drain? Huh? Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world.

But the press attacks have certainly had an impact on Muslim communities here. Where I live people egg their houses, break out windows in Muslim owned stores and occasionally worse. It's completely unwarranted.

concerning the previous answer

"US Muslims should be treated with the same respect they show others in their own countries. "
this just shows this persons ignorance
1. US Muslims "own countries" would be the US if they were in fact born here or have immigrated and been granted citizenship.
as far as the religion "going down the drain" well if you judge a religion by what a few crackpots and extremeists do then what about Christianity? is it going downhill because of timothy mcveigh, or the david Koreesh? or jerry fallwell and Pat robertson? what about those guys who handle snakes and drink poision in appalachia?
personnally I've never had a muslim knocking on my door and interupting my dinner to try to "save" me

p.s. I am a white middle class born in america male, raised to salute the flag and go to church on sundays

The religion of Christianity going down the drain?
And Hitler claim to be a Christian?
The Holocaust was caused by Christian fundamentalism:
History is currently being distorted by the millions of Christians who lie to have us believe that the Holocaust was not a Christian deed.

The religion of Christianity going down the drain?
Didn't the Christians do the first act of hate with the Crusades back in the...12? Hundreds, where the slaughtered many atheists, Muslims and other people all in the name of god?

Timothy McVeigh, KKK, Bush and Milosevic, who killed millions of Muslims in Bosnia, were Christian too, well, hello??? Are they Christian Terrorists?

Christianity is possibly the greatest mortal threat to mankind in existence today.

Stop generalising the muslims in to one category, the real Islam is against violence, have you ever come across a Quranic verse that orders to kill innocents?
The minority of people that do kill innocents arent Muslims or acting in the name of Islam, dont think that they are speaking for us because we never accept those who kill innocents, any way, in those attacks over the past 3 years Muslims got killed too, everyone suffered.

The backlash is here already.
EVERY muslim MUST believe in the Q fully and believe in Kakfir.
The stories simply tell what is happening hour by hour.

It is IMPOSSIBLE for islam to change its ways and still be faithful to the Q.

Everything will continue to get "rougher"" for everyone.
The followers and we infidels.
