There are many atheist on here and thats great(though atheist in a spirituality and religion forum is like a vegetarian in a steak and chicken forum).

Several things Ive notices with atheist on here

1) Very arrogant.

2)Very sarcastic

3) Very bitter

4) Very antiChristian ..

5)Very ignorant (Ahh surprised to here that one thrown back your way since you claim that about everyone else)- if you are going to against something, at lease have a solid idea what it really is about. Its like all atheist looked at 10 minutes of a Jerry Falwell sermon and decided they are experts enough to conclude how stupid Christianity is.

Ive heard the argument from atheist that religious people make the world so bad, but if these grumpy, sarcastic, bitter people are their representatives, how much better could it be?

The answers here proved my point.

Atheist on here are like "There is no heaven or hell...its all BS". That is fine. But if you are so enlightened, why be bothered by people who believe.

1. Arrogant. I try not to be, but 'knowledgeable and aware of it' comes across as arrogant sometimes.
2. Sarcastic. Yes. It's the most valuable weapon we have against ignorance.
3. Bitter. I'm not, and I see very little bitterness from atheists here.
4. Un-Christian. Damn straight, brother.
5. Ignorant. I'd say something about pots and kettles, but that would be cruel to cooking utensils.

Christians just tend to be so closed minded! You won't accept the possibility that you are wrong, you pull excuses for everything out of the air instead of thinking about the fact that something we say may in fact be right! You allow yourselves to believe (even though you won't admit it) that you are better than those who are not Christians. And worst of all... for being such a loving and accepting group of people... you don't accept any other form of life, be it a sexual preference or religious beliefs. The majority of wars that we go into God or religion is involved. That cannot be denied. That is why religion is so negative to society... its just like an oppressive government scaring you into doing what is right. I do what is right because I have respect for all people and I want to see everyone prosper and live the best they can while they are alive... I don't live for my death.

I am an Atheist and I think the majority of people who do not need religion in their life do not like Christians for the following reasons;
1. They preach to us and try to convert those who are not intrested in their beliefs. This gets very annoying.
2. Christians cannot prove what they teach - they only refer to the bible (one single book written years ago) when you ask them a question.
3. A large majority of Christians can't even follow their own religion and beliefs so they loose huge credibility. (following the ten commandments) (divorce rates among Christians) (sex crime rates and crime rates among Christians). A lot of hypocrites basically.
4. They go to other countries to 'help' people but really there are strings attached. Come to the church and you will get a free meal (yeah right, after hearing about god etc.)
5. Christians are selective and discriminatory about who their friends are etc. as they only prefer to hang out with other church goers. This is the same as Islam though so no suprise here. When is the last time you saw some christians hanging out with muslims?
Just a few points. You should really consider the devine truth yourself and realize religion is a thing of fiction and more of a 'club' than reality. There is no heaven, no hell, no god, no jesus, no zeus, no David Karesh, no allah, no muhommed, no higher power, no al mighty. You just have your own mind and body to care for so live every day like it's your last because there is no 'after life' BS.

For a start we all make the world bad religious or not, no one group gets to claim that. I dont hate all christian i know alot about Christians, i used to be one and my parents still are, so i am not ignorant about ur faith but i cannot stand when ppl preach things like love thy neighbor , only god can judge, we are all gods children, and then turn around and say some incredibly mean, disrespectful and rude things to atheists, u should practice what u preach or stop preaching it, at least when atheists are mean and bitter thyre not being hypocrites!

I have to agree, having atheists hang out on a spirituality forum would be like me hanging out on a prolife forum (I'm prochoice). Like I said before though a lot of atheists out there in my experience are just as obnoxious as religious fanatics, and I think they just are very insecure about themselves but don't want to admit it. So they come here and badmouth religion and spirituality using quasiintellectual arguments to back their claims and opinions in order to feel a sense of superiority. Makes them feel special in other words.

Methinks that before they go around accusing people of this and that, they outta take a long look at themselves in the mirror and ask themselves if they aren't guilty of the very things they accuse everyone else (not just Christians, they like to pick on everybody) of being.

What about the atheists causing so much trouble in the world as well. They believe since there is no God they don't have to answer for their bad behavior. It's just a continuation of the first rebellion against God in the garden of Eden. They don't want ANYBODY telling them how they should live their lives not even their creator, they want to chose what is right and wrong for themselves. And again they fail miserably.

I cant answer for all atheist but i'll admit sometimes i am arrogant and sarcastic. never bitter or antichristian and since i grew up in a catholic home i would say i know the bible and its teachings well enough to speak about them.
when i am arrogant or sarcastic it is usually because i am annoyed that when we answer a question and theists dont understand it they get mad. they are too stuborn to accept a logical argument.

I do find it funny to be called ignorant by someone who believes there is something called heaven and hell and a god who is watching over us all

Sarcasm is my friend. It saves time.

Bitterness and a certain amount of anger are also my friends; they remind me that there's reason to be bitter and angry. Like the three-and-a-half decades of my one-and-only life that I wasted trying to be a believer -- I'll never get them back and I have a right to be pissed off about that.

Other reasons to be mad as hell at religion:

The Crusades.
The Spanish Inquisition.
The conquest of the Americas.
The condoning and prolonging of slavery in the Americas.
Witch hunts.
The Holocaust.
Galileo spending his final years under house arrest.
Pedophile priests and the bishops who spent decades covering up for them.
Pious nitwits who only want to make life difficult for gays who want to get married and women desperate to end an unplanned pregnancy, and who smugly claim this is what their god expects of them.
The same pious nitwits making it impossible for children to get either a useful sex education or contraceptives, thus contributing to the appallingly high rate of unplanned pregnancies, which in turn creates a permanent underclass of impoverished, ignorant women and children.

THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!!! I've been seeing that too! I mean, Im Christian, and I respect other peoples beliefs but a lot people on here that claim to be atheists have been so rude and cruel towards christians and also towards people who believe in God in general which would include others like Muslims and Buddhists. If they don't belive in God then just say "i don't believe in God" but don't bag on other peoples beliefs. That's not open mineded at all.

If only the atheists who embrace science could make the next leap to Intelligent Design. Whenever they can't prove something with science, they could simply shrug and say "God did it" and go home early.

Glory be ID
