This is a serious question, intended to produce thoughtful response. Serious replies only please.

There is a building in Melbourne (Collins St) with an unsual symbol on it. There are two circles, a larger one and a smaller on which sits on the circumference of the other at the 12 o'clock position.

In the larger circle there is a Star of David with an ankh in the centre of the hexagon formed. In the smaller circle there is a Swastika.

I'm guessing the building pre-dates WW2 and I was wondering if anyone had any ideas as to the symbolgy.

1) Why should we think always of Jesus sufferance before and in time of crucification since other millions of people died in great sufferance for their faith, for their land, etc...? And they were innocents.
You can say it was a moral sufferance of some kind. But how can it be so special?

2) Why it is said that Jesus sacrificed for our sins? As far as I know he took away the sins of people who lived before him. But what has to do with people in present?

Thank you.

How many days does it take to email a friend, who you have not seen for years?

Let me explain. I have not seen her for years despite the memories that were sour at first. I do not want to come off as rude or impolite. I would like to talk to her online, and see if she could forget the memories and accept me as I am today.

Is there a way where I can work around it and make this friendship possible?

Kinda at a life changing point. I have two options on making lots of money. I think I would make more as a clergymen, but the endless sex of prostitution does sound fun. Or, should I just become a Catholic Priest and have it both ways?

At some point such and such billions of years ago all matter in the universe was condensed into a very small lump of extremely dense material. Then, BOOM. The universe is born. Thats all fine and dandy, but I have to ask: where did this little lump of ultra dense matter come from? Also, when I picture this lump of matter in my head, I see this clump of matter floating in space, but some proponents of the theory claim the big bang created space and time. So, what is this clump of matter floating in? Nothing? How can nothing contain something? Likewise, what is the universe expanding into? If I am to believe that the big bang created an ever enlargening bubble of space inside of nothing? Again, nothing containing something? At the edge of this event there is nothing? Does this really make sense to any of you? BOOMING VOICE: In the beginning, there was nothing......except a clump of ultra dense matter, floating like a turd in the nothingness. Then the turd exploded...........

I hope everyone understands what I mean. I'm 17 years old, and so everything that's thrown into me from school and nonbelievers inevitibly leads me to questions sometimes. So my faith is not 100%. I still have questions that I need answered, even though I know God must exist. I have moments where I feel him, and others when I can't. So if I died today, would God have mercy on my soul and let me into His kingdom?

It's so bizarre. I don't believe in the Christian God, but I've never told a Christian that he/she 'doesn't exist'... yet this proposition is freely bandied about as regards atheists... Is this a childish attempt at half-understood existentialism?

And is it not highly ironic to find a Christian believer condemning other beliefs for not having 'absolute proof'?

Just wondering if there's any one else out there who gets told that they 'don't exist'...
