The church has been wrong before, Galileo and Copernicus denied the churches common belief of the stellar map. Then the church admitted they were wrong. Darwin's belief of evolution is exactly the same. Evolution is a theory, and that's a lot more than anyone is willing to admit, although it is yet to be entirely complete, filling in the holes does not mean turning to a deity.

Like most of my "questions" this isn't a question, I would like to discuss this and see your opinions. However, I find statements a lot better than a sarcastic rhetorical question, so here we go.

You hear the phrase...
"It was love at first sight" often.
Is this real in your opinion or just a phrase?
Personally I believe it is lust as you do not know the person and often this "love" you feel is nothing but sexual attraction.
However, do you believe love at first sight exists?

It's a funny feeling I get when I realise I don't belong to my own nation, that I should have been brought to life in a different part of the world. For that particular country, I have a great sense of love and attachment, I love the language, the food, the music. Am I alone with this problem?

If you are not in an English speaking country and you are on here, are you typing in English or your own language? Trying to see if there is a translating device through Yahoo.

Let's say your kid plays baseball and he has a game today. You tell him you believe in him, but you're too busy to go and watch his game, and secretly you really don't think his team will win. Is it possible to claim to believe in a person or cause (i.e. gay rights) and not act upon it? Shouldn't a true belief dictate, to some extent, the way you live your life?

Can anyone explain the origins of, or the beginning of blood?

"I Know and Believe that GOD is the only source of life and blood"?

This is a quote that a scientist made when IIn order for a component to evolve from anyting prior, there must be a need for the component.
Would a heart evolve without blood?
Would lungs evolve without blood?
Would blood evolve without lungs or a heart?
You see the point.
How long would a creature survive with blood but no lungs or heart? How would the new design be passed on?
posted a question before hand.

All of a sudden there is an uprow to keep indivduals of Mexican heritage out of the USA. WHY? Mexico helped settle the USA? Is this a ploy to take focus off of other important things that are going on in our world. I really would like some help in understanding why all of a sudden these people are no longer desirable. What are we coming to? This nation was made up of immigrants. Read the early days of California. I am a firm believer of becoming a citizen of ones country, and they should do so. When you fight and die for a country without being a citizen how much more loyality can you ask for? Please help me to understand.

I'm curious to read about how people get by without reliance on electricity and technology (yeah, I realize the irony of this post.)
Any suggested books or web resources on how to live without electricity and utilities?

Hello. My pastor has recently said something that I have been pondering for awhile. He said that we should pray to God and not let things bog us down, such as a family member with an illness or something, just give it to God and try to move on. I agree with this, however, people also say "Keep _(Some circumstance) in your prayers" Which I also agree with, but if he are supposed to pray about it and then move on, how are we supposed to KEEP something in our prayers like...pray about it more than once. I don't know. I am sorry for all the confusion!!

Let us imagine a particular person. And just for fun let's call her Mary. Now Mary has never had religion. By this Christian definition Mary is without morals of any kind. Along comes a missionary and tells Mary all about Jesus. He tells bible stories that illustrate what wonderful, upright examples they set for sinful mankind. He tells about the ten commandments and how all morals come from the deity.

Here is the quandary:

How is Mary, whom we agree has no morals, able to judge if this deity is a moral god? We might observe that one should not worship a god unless that god is worthy of worship. Surely, one would not love a god unless that god was worthy of love.

In other words, Mary must first make an independent judgment -- based upon Madalyn's own godless moral values, that God is worthy of love and worship.

In your own words, what makes someone cool? Is it the things you do or how you act (your attitude) or a combination of the two? Are there certain things (activities) you can do to be cool?

If God all ready knows everything that has happened or will happen from the beginning of time to the end of time then "free will" doesn't really exist. If you have six different ways of driving to work and I know which way you will take on any given day, no matter how random you think you are driving, are you still actually making the choice of what route to take?
