We have a social ethic or dominate paradigm that manifests as "Getting Mine". Inducing an uncontrolable obsession with MORE.... more money ... more power .... more sex. If you buy into scarcity .... then there is only so much love, energy, food and the only sane and reasonable option you have is to "get yours". The 1960's riots saw "getting mine" a multicultural more. Life is about abundance plant an apple seed and you don't get just one apple but a tree full, etc etc. Scarcity is generally man made ..in the seventies the oil companies would only run their refineries two days a week to keep prices up. Yet, people in the 1970's killed each other for their place in the gas lines generated by the oil companies manipulation of our energy resources. People also kill each other over a lost relationship even though hundreds of thousands of new men and women are born every day. Truly when one door shuts countless others open. So why do we allow ourselves to be controlled by lies like scarcity?

On Which hand are homosexuals supposed to wear their rings of commitment?

I am fixing to ask my partner to be with me for the rest of our lives, and I am shopping for rings, and i want to make sure i get the right size/finger...should we have the same ring?

Why am I like this?

I have this morbid fear of my mum dying and lately that fear has become more real as she has put herself in a situation that could be life threatening. I know that as a christian I am told all the time that I shouldn't live in fear but this is something that I asked God to help me with and so far I have had no response!! LOL.
I also am terrified to die myself because I would hate to die and think that I hadn't lived my life. I know my time isn't up yet! At least I think I do. At least I hope I do.
My friends think I'm ridiculous because I used to be a bit of a hypochondriac, but I'm genuinely terrified!

If Jesus was all about parables, and Jesus is God, and...(more follows) ?

If Jesus was all about parables for leading people to better lives, and Jesus is God, or at least His son, and God wrote the Bible....

then why CAN'T the Bible just be a book of parables???

people seem to think its a history book. why does it have to be JUST so?

and if you say "cause God said so" or "the Bible says" then you're wasting your time because i have to go on the assumption that the Bible is truth, and thats what the question is.

If i asked "What is the Bible?" you would only answer "the Bible" if you had no idea what actually answering a question meant.

How do you let go of an old friend?

I've had the same best friend for about 15 years. Lately he's turning into someone I don't want to be around. I've tried talking to him about it, but he just ignores it.
It is hurting me too badly to continue to talk to him, as sometimes, I just want to snap on him. How can I discontinue this friendship, and make it hurt less for me?

Has gay marriage ruined any families lifes in Vermont?

In Vermont were there any Christian families that got torn apart because of a gay married couple living next door? Did the Christian parents have to explain that the couple next door is both a husband and a husband, and did that turn the Christian child into a Satan worshipping gay guy?

Is it wrong to make fun of someones beliefs?

Because it is so damn funny to watch religious people get so angry!!!! Don't you think if you just shrugged your shoulders and went along with it like you didn't care, people would just give up after a while? Maybe? It isn't so much fun when no one gets upset. Any Mediums out there?

I got a call from an old friend .He is a very popular medium.I am christian and do not need to contact any loved ones.He says he can just sit and talk with me on a social basis and not get any loved ones coming through.Is this true?
Or if they are coming through to him as he talks to me could he be ignoring this because I dont want to talk to them?I want our friendship back but do not fully understand .Please help.
