That is a question that was resolved long ago. God knows the content of all minds, heart, and souls. He knows that some people are actually beyond repentance and the devil is such. Satan was a cherub, one of the worship leaders of heaven, who was in God's presence all the time. He grew proud and full of himself, yet he still chose to do battle with God and overthrow God's reign. The bible speaks of the fullness of sin which is the point in which God's judgment is poured out. Satan, a perfect being in every respect, reached that point. Trust me when I tell you that he is beyond repentance. God's will regarding him has already been written and will not change. Make no mistake about it, Satan hates you and will do anything to trip you up and bind you in sin. He will not repent. I advise that you concentrate, instead, in learning how to serve God that you may not fall in the devil's snare.
Sincerely,
Mr. M on God's love of the devil.

Yes! The devil could get saved and go to heaven if he asked forgiveness before it was too late... but he won't. God knows that, knew that, and so on, so He doesn't say anything about "what if..." because he won't. It's as simple as that.

The Devil is not like we are. He was a perfect spirit son of God who desired the worship God received from Humans. In the Garden of Eden, he lied about God, he slandered God, and he is the cause of all the suffering that we see in the world today.

He does not deserve forgiveness. He was a willful sinner.
We humans inherited sin from Adam and Eve, so we fall short of the mark of perfection everyday. We need forgiveness and that is why God sent his son Jesus for us so that we could have the opportunity to gain forgiveness. Jesus did not die for Satan.

Do you know what Judaism says about "the devil"? This is from http://www.shamash.org/lists/scj-faq/HTML/faq/12-35.html

The word satan means "challenger", "difficulty", or "distraction" (note that it is not a proper name). With the leading ha- to make haSatan, it refers to /the/ challenger. This describes Satan as the angel who is the embodiment of man's challenges. HaSatan works for G-d. His job is to make choosing good over evil enough of a challenge so that it can be a meaningful choice. In other words, haSatan is an angel whose mission it is to add difficulty, challenges, and growth experiences to life. Contrast this to Christianity, which sees Satan as God's opponent. In Jewish thought, the idea that there exists anything capable of setting itself up as God's opponent would be considered overly polytheistic—you are setting up the devil to be a god or demigod.

The notion of an angel having free will is alien to Judaism. Free will requires the tension created by being a soul dwelling in a body. People can have free will, angels can't. There is a debate over whether they lack the potential for free will, or whether they simply percieve reality to clearly to have any choices to make. But in any case, without the fence-straddling of the human condition, there is no free will. HaSatan acts as a servant of God, not as an opponent or even disobediant child. Angels cannot sin, they cannot fall.">

So, according to Judaism - and it should be the same in Christianity - it follows that "God" loves Satan because Satan is doing exactly as God wants him to do.

I'm sure God would but I seriously doubt that the Devil would want his forgiveness.

The devil cannot ask for forgiveness, he's an angel, not a human. Angels do not die.
