If so, at what age were you brainwashed into thinking this?

I love the way you word this. "A huge party in the sky." LOL

Actually, it is a huge family reunion...at God's House, beyond the sky. God and His children together enjoying each other's company. "You will prepare a table for me in the presence of my enemies." We will sit down with our Father and enjoy a time of fellowship and celebration. Satan and his minions will just have to chew it raw and swallow.

And the way you arrogantly use the term "brainwashed". Think you're so much "smarter" than God's kids, LOL. I find it amusing, in a sad sort of way.

However, in spite of your condescending attitude, I would still like to invite you to our party. Please, reconsider, and come join us?

I just can't believe that when someone dies, that there would be any reason for them to experience joy, or want to "party". Did my uncle who died in the war feel wonderful and happy while his family was experiencing pain beyond belief? Did my husbands young cousin who was killed by a drunk driver sing the praises of God while her parents live the rest of their days in a sorrow that will never end? Does anyone "leave" the ones they love and just not give a damn because they are in heaven?

Now there's a christian attitude for ya...

All this silliness about faith and putting your trust in God is just telling people to suck it up and slap that smile right back on your face. If we were smart enough to understand such things, we would be better off, but since we don't, as the good book and TV preachers tell us, just be quite and wait for your chance to turn your back on your loved ones anguish.

It seems they do believe it, enough that, on occasion, they'll kill people who don't believe in the same kind of afterlife party they do.
You know, even Pope John Paul II, shortly before he died, made some sort of statement that basically said, hey, hold on. Heaven isn't this place in the clouds where you're reunited with all your dead relatives and pets. Heaven is seeing God. That's it.
Now, I don't believe even that, but for those who do believe, they might want to consider that Pope knows what he's talking about and that they've got this heaven thing all wrong.

No! I've had friends who believed they would dance on streets of gold, if it makes death easier to accept, why not? Some people say they believe everything in the Big B, but I think if you followed the instructions, Jesus will set a table for you and his disciples will be your waiter that night.
Kind of like, "Good evening, my name is Peter and I am your server . We're having a special on fish tonight. I recommend the catch of the day. Simply devine".

I was not brainwashed to believe this...
Only people who are saved and are loyal to God will go to Heaven when they die.
For those who don't believe and never got saved, God loves them so much, and hates to see them go to Hell.
Yes, people believe this and try to be so good.
But in the end...they learned they were brainwashed to think so.

A party??? No.....I haven't heard anything about a party. But just standing in the Presence of the Lord God Almighty is enough for me.

Christians are generally taught they will have huge mansions and everything their hearts desire. There will be no pain, suffering or misery, only eternal happiness and joy.

And, the price they pay will be that they are required to spend eternity singing praises to and worshiping God. (or Jesus)
