I'm looking for the next best thing. (Yeah, it's a Warren Zevon song.) I was wondering, do you think it's a wrong to turn down something really great you don't like (i.e., a huge yacht, a four-course dinner) for something you do (a small but comfortable dinghy, a mac-and-cheese dinner)? Is this even a morality question or is it just preference?

I for one think not. I think many younger uses will misconstrue some of the answers provided by other older users. I notice plenty of sarcasm and tongue in cheek answers (I am guilty of it too). Not to mention the sailor talk which abounds.

I have no idea how to classify this question...

HELPFUL ANSWERS ONLY PLEASE: I need to know where I can find some things I have been looking for, for a few years now. Things which are the right things for me now. I am after a very worthwhile job and a lovely home to live in, located in a great area of London. I have done lots of things already (agencies, scouring newspapers) but to no avail and have had enough. I need some help!

Something better than some humdrum " Oh just go out and look " kind of guidance. Anybody can say that, but it's no help when you have been going round and round in circles. I have also sought help from spiritual sources, but as yet to no avail either. Is there something else I can do? Prayers? Subconscious instruction? Positive answers would be most appreciated. I have had enough of treasure 'hunting.' Treasure 'finding' is what I most desire......

I recently heard about Bill Gates giving up his Microsoft company for charity. I was really inspired by it but frankly I have always wanted to do it as it comes from my heart. I am just 16 years old. I see a bigger acceptance of lesbian women then I do for gay men. I myself am not gay however, I find it quite sickning that people cant accept people for their heart and ot for their sexual preference. I have never met a gay guy that did not have a good heart. There are rednecks everywhere, I know. People give AL, MS, LA, TX, GA, FL, TN, SC, NC, and WV a bad rap. They give Arkansas a horrible rep! But, I'm not so sure any of those are as bad as Kentucky (especially east of Shelbyville and Bardstown) and southern Illinois. People still walk around barefooted in Wal-Mart and in the park on any given day in Kentucky.
