Xae, I agree. Much more of an acceptance for women then men who are gay.
Now, this is a better question.
As far as your logic about males mounting males, this is almost completely about dominance. This doesn't have much to do with the cute little dog being a homosexual.

In my opinion look up the word Gay in the dictionary as it was originally meant to be a good word. You know happy, social times not to describe a man sexual preference. Now if men want to be alternative life style living go right ahead, have fun. There have been different treatments of people since the beginning of time rather either by color, race, creed or Religious choice. It's what makes the world go around, unfortunately!!

Allot of it I think is do to insecurities, it is probably the same reason that people make fun of different races, or religious groups. Many people believe that anything different is "bad"
However reading some of these answers was amusing, all of these people who quoted the bible that they supposedly follow have seem to forgot a few key parts about judging others.
Elmjunburke even stated that sex is only for reproducing, so tell me if a husband and wife have sex when she is not ovulating is that WRONG too, since she can not get pregnant during that period, and as you stated sex if for reproduction ONLY ???
Elmjunburke, FivePtsCalvin, and clb_1957_clb, please out of consideration for everyone don't reproduce it seems that your gene pool is shallow enough.

because they don't agree with the lifestyle choice when its really not their place to judge. I don't het angry with st8 people because they have sex and relationships with each other. I think they'd feel different if they knew the difficult times some gay people have to go through realizing their gay, admitting it and then coming out to people who have only known them as being straight. I hated myself for so many years because I liked guys, but I still dated and had sex with women, few and far between but I did that for so many reasons. I didn't want to be gay at one point in my life now I love being gay, because I am being myself and I am happy this way. some people just don't understand that and never will just like some people will never accept people of different races.

The general derogatory attitude towards homosexual males is based on the implicit acknowledgment of their activity, since homosexual male activity is by nature seen as both aggressive and unnatural it produces an instinctive aggressive male response, this is often verbal but can become physical. The men that become aggressive towards homosexuals typically have an overabundance of testosterone and never learned to control their emotions. Those that did learn to control their emotions have a tendency to accept what they can not change.
Female homosexuality does not provoke the same response because it is viewed as passive, so, while people tend to dislike it originally, after continued exposure males learn to like the behavior.
A good paper on the subject
[edited to add]
“In the animal kingdom male animals mount other male animals”
It is my understanding that this ‘mounting’ is ceremonial with the intent of establishing a pecking order, a hierarchy within their society. The dominant male ‘mounts’ other males that in this fashion shown submission (as if they were females) and in this manner unnecessary conflicts are avoided. However, while the ‘humping’ is done actual penetration or even penile erection does not occur.
If you believe this is wrong, please point me to the sources that state so.

Implicit attitudes towards homosexuality: reliability, validity, and controllability of the IAT.
Banse R, Seise J, Zerbes N.
Humboldt-Universitat zu Berlin.
Two experiments were conducted to investigate the psychometric properties of an Implicit Association Test (IAT; Greenwald, McGhee, & Schwartz, 1998) that was adapted to measure implicit attitudes towards homosexuality. In a first experiment, the validity of the Homosexuality-IAT was tested using a known group approach. Implicit and explicit attitudes were assessed in heterosexual and homosexual men and women (N = 101). The results provided compelling evidence for the convergent and discriminant validity of the Homosexuality-IAT as a measure of implicit attitudes. No evidence was found for two alternative explanations of IAT effects (familiarity with stimulus material and stereotype knowledge). The internal consistency of IAT scores was satisfactory (alpha s > .80), but retest correlations were lower. In a second experiment (N = 79) it was shown that uninformed participants were able to fake positive explicit but not implicit attitudes. Discrepancies between implicit and explicit attitudes towards homosexuality could be partially accounted for by individual differences in the motivation to control prejudiced behavior, thus providing independent evidence for the validity of the implicit attitude measure. Neither explicit nor implicit attitudes could be changed by persuasive messages. The results of both experiments are interpreted as evidence for a single construct account of implicit and explicit attitudes towards homosexuality.

Homosexuality goes against the plan of nature. Homos don't reproduce. Sex is for the purpose of reproducing.
If a person has homo inclinations but does not engage in Homo sex, I feel that most people would have a different opinion of them. What disgusts many is the means that the homos use to satisfy themselves and each other sexually.

Straight people (some, not many) have an inordinant fear of gay men...I have no idea why. They must think it is a contagious condition, and therefore, I am left wondering about their footedness in their own sexuality. Most of my friends are straight and don't give any of this a second thought.

God did not intend for man to be with man or women to be with men. The Bible says, at the beginning the Creator made them male and female. He meant for men and women to be togeather to re-produce. God allows us to make our own choices to follow him or the sinful ways of the earth. He loves us all but hates the sin's that we do. If we truley repent with all our heart, and believe in the Lord Jesus Christ and take him as our personal savior, we will have eternal life in Christ and our sins will be forgiven. We are all sinners and fall short of the glory of God, but through Jesus Christ are sins are forgiven.

Dude, they put their thingy in each others holes... I mean... face the truth, it's not natural... not meant to be natural... and people don't respond well to that.
I'm not in support of treating them as scum... but I can't just say, "oh, just let people do whatever they want"

Quite often, people who hate or despise men just because they are gay have deep-rooted fears that they themselves might be - or probably are - gay.
Statistics show that gay-bashers are usually homosexuals desperate to repress their true feelings.
