as I get older myself I realize they are LUCKY because they lived a long life and they went through more years than I did and know they stretched out the ride a long time--whereas the young have uncertainty

I also envy older married couples, like the ones who've been together 50+ years, they are amazing

so I went from sort of mocking oldsters to realizing they have the last laugh since they may outlive all those young'uns

has this occurred to you?

i have some superficial ideas which may or may not be derisory in your opinion, but i'm only an average observer. To make things easy, i'll bullet point them, Tory style.
1. The breakdown in family structure/family values.
2. The secular nature of British society.
3. The ubiquitous glamourisation of violence/gang culture/guns/knives/machismo in popular culture.
4. Failure of Represssive State Apparatus and Ideological State Apparatus to marshall popular opinion towards restraint.
5. The proliferation of alcohol and cannabis as accelerants in the breakdown of societal inhibitions.

I can't make sense of why I get threatened on the streets of Nottingham so much, by people of all ages and denominations, and believe me, i'm Joe Average. What do you think?

There are a host of examples where scientific inquiry has or might produce socially inconvenient or disturbing results. Genetic predisposition to sexual orientation and differences in racial attributes are two sensitive examples. Is it better to have a “don’t ask” policy to preserve social harmony, or should we look to find the “truth” and let the chips fall where they may? What are the dangers and advantages?

Are people in the modern world any happier these days? I feel, a lot of the times. We have a false sense of happiness. We live in such a shallow age. Just count the ways. That instant gratification! We think were "living life to the fullest." Reveling in our "freedoms." But really, at the end of day. Did we, are we? At the core of it all!?

We might have made a lot changes over the past 50 years or so. But I don't think it made us necessarily happier. Just different. . .

Are people any happier in this day age?

Do they lose respect for her or just focus on her physical attributes? As a woman, you want to be pretty and I think that is fine. I just wonder if some of the clothes today tend to have an effect on men we don't intend because we might not be thinking the same as men. If someone is in more revealing clothes, do me n take her less seriously and have a problem with considering her "as a good girl?" I just want to honestly know what men think.

I do have friends, but I sometimes think of myself as a loner because I'd rather think and be be myself than be around people all the time. It saps away my energy. One of my friends is trying to introduce me to all her friends because she says I hide from people and must be lonely. Truth it, i'm not. I'm happy with being alone. Kids in my class talk about loners like it's a bad thing. Why?

Ok my phys. ed instructor in college is kinda mean to me I would say. I play racquetball and there are 4 ppl in my class including me and I am the only girl. Anyways, he will ONLY tell me and whoever the person I am playing, that whoever loses the game has to give him pushups. Well he never tells the the other 2 guys in the class that. He is always on my butt about stuff and says I am being lazy about how I play.Yesterday, he was playing a guy and so I watched to get some tips, and he came out of the court and said he didnt call time out and I needed to go play my classmate, but the guy he was playing TOLD me to come watch. I dont know.. he just always picks on me and some ppl say he treats me like that becuz he might have a little crush on me. I cant really tell though..he just says stuff to me and will sometimes smile afterwards..like when he told me I owed him some pushups if I lost the game. Oh yea asked him why he always picks on me and he someone has to keep me in line.

Why can't people try to understand what other people think, not agree, but understand.

I was having a conversation with a women on here a few hours ago. Basically she sleep's with married men and unapologic about it. We had a debate on whether or not what she was doing was wrong or right. Interesting conversation! She was 46, me 21. She told me that right now I live in a fairy tale land and when I get older I'll realize stuff like what she's doing isn't that bad at all. I only think it is because I'm young was taught it was bad. As the convesation progressed, I found that she actually hated stuff like cheating and really wished thing weren't like the way it is in today society. She seemed more jaded and tanited by her experinces in life then anything else.

So it got me thinking. Is about getting older and being wiser? Or getting older and giving up? As you get older, do you smarten up or just give up and settle for whatever at your disopsable? Life takes it's toll and runs you down. It seem's like that too me. THOUGHTS?

"BABY" IF YOU'RE READING THIS, HAD TO ASK.

I have an example; some of my relatives are worry worts and were real crazy about the cell phone radiation brain cancer thing. When the results were coming out that you were very much unlikely to get brain cancer from your cell phone they still wouldn't believe it and said, "oh that's not true. they don't know what they are talking about."

Can someone please explain why some people are like this?
